02 gt
We went from a stop. I had no traction through 1st, so he got about a one car jump. 2nd gear was a wicked, sick, nasty experience for him, as my tires hooked up in the middle 2nd, and I quickly overtook him with a huge surge as my car sprung forward. I propelled past him and put a couple of bus lengths on him before shutting down as triple digits were approaching. I don't know if he was runnin' mods, never got a chance to ask. What I do know for sure is that I need Drag Radials bad. Stock Goodyears are worthless at this point.
next time you race, if your tires break loose like that
, go ahead and upshift to second (this is standard procedure for me now even with 295s). You might bog for a moment but you will ultimately get going better (especially with 4.10s). But....flip side.....it is pretty funny to see their face when you burn the tires all the way through the intersection....makes them go "OH F*CK!!! What did I get myself into!!!"

nice race
Stock, our cars have very little low end grunt in my opinion. 4.10's keep you in the power band, and you really get pushed back into the driver's seat as a result. With increased power and the gears, there is a need for improved rubber as you can see, and I have learned. I strongly recommend gears, at least 3.73's. As for daily driving, let's just say there is power on tap all the time. I pass cars with ease in 4th, 5th and 6th. It makes those top gears usable. So, if searching for that grunt off the line without doing engine mods, the gears are great. They also continue to pay off down the modding road for things like a cam upgrade for driveability issues.

I LOVE these gears. In my opinion the car is MUCH quicker off the line. Not only that, but the car is MUCH more streetable with the stage 3 clutch then it was with the 3.42's.
I actually GAINED about a 1/2 mile per gallon highway with the gears (dyno tuned at the same time as the gear install, but I doubt I would've lost much due to the gears had I not had it dyno tuned) ... city mpg stays identical.
As SouthFL02SS said, the top gears 4-5-6 are now a BLAST instead of the boggin I used to get when I put it in 6th at 65, now it goes right in, and loves every second of it. No downshifting if I want to pass someone, just leave it in 6th and blow right by them.
VERY Slight whine when I let off the gas completely doing about 70, but not noticable at all unless your ME (I notice EVERYTHING). Open the windows or turn the radio on the slightest bit and I cant hear it at all.
I have yet to find a downside to these, and I cant say enough.
Hope this helps
