hey guys a little race story ...pulled up to a red next to a very clean iroc-z ...had exhaust sounded clean ...not sure how fast hey are or how fast they could be but...so im waiting next to him no revs or nothing but i know hes gonna go ..so i wait for grenn he takes off spinning his tires ..i just roll out of first now knowing this thing isnt too fast ..so i slam second and gain about 2 cars third im already letting off he comes by waving his finger like i did something bad ..all in all it was fun but he got walked pretty bad but i know these cars arent too fast peace

I wouldn't have, cause I knew I would have gotten ripped. I would have just acted like I didn't wanna put forth the effort in racing a stang. That's a hell of a lot better than being beaten by one.

Yes, it's true that Iroc's are slow. I raced one in my 99 GT A4, and beat the **** out of him. With an Mustang A4!!!!! Anyway, even though they are slow, I'm gonna be a good sport and say........

I used to have an '85 IROC-Z . . . yes it was slow but it never wore out! Sold it after I put 200,000 miles on it and it and it never burned oil, always ran good.

my friends 89 gta 5.7l ran a 14.5 @97 all stock. just for everyone who thinks they were all 15sec cars. that is a pretty good time for a 1980's car considering the time these cars were made in and the emmisions standards were tough and technology hadnt caught up with them yet.

I wouldn't bash third gens at all. My friend had an 88 WS6 with the 5.7 TPI, he ran around that time stock, after cam and heads and a few other mods he was low 13's, almost ready to break into 12s... then he blew his trans Must have been a terrible feeling after he did so much work to the car.

It was probably a 305 TPI, a 350 would of gave 281 everything he could handle....
