Had a couple of runs with a Speed6 tonight. I know the guy from a local forum. His car has a front mount, a piggy back, and a couple other things. My car has lid. Went from a 40 roll both times and he was with me through 2nd, but in 3rd I pulled a little and 4th even more. Finished each run about 2 cars up. Thing that sucks about the Speed6 is the gearing is so short. He traps in 5th. lol

Nice kill, I bought my wife a Mazda3, and I love the way that car handles. I've wanted a Speed3, but no AWD, only FWD really sucks to me. Mazda is really kicking it up a notch, just too bad there's such a huge dealer mark up on those cars.

 

yea from what i understand about the speed six is that even though its awd, the speed3 can take it top end. good kill, funny you posted i just posted about a speed3 race. guess the ,azda guys are gettin to big for their britches <(texan word sorry)

Speed6 is a I4 Turbo w/ AWD.

 

sounds more intimidating than it actually is. hearing turbo four with AWD reminds one of an evo or sti, but its nothing of the calibre.

 

Haha when I saw speed 6 in the title, I thought you were talking about the TVR Tuscan Speed 6, and I was like "SWEET! where did he come across one of those???"

The Mazdaspeed6 is not geared toward people that want an EVO/STi... it's for people that need/want a midsize sedan but want to have a little fun at the same time. And it does that job pretty well.

It's an AWD 2.3L I4 Turbo. His is pretty quick. Stock they go 14s but his best is I think 13.6 @ 103. In a drag we would be dead even because we trap about the same but it was 100-120 where I really pulled him. He has a piggy back tune, FMIC, exhaust, and I think so other stuff. My car just has a lid.

 

So they're like those S-R-T-4s but slower kinda?

That'd be cool if it was a TVR...

 

Yeah but from what ive gathered, the s r t 4's take mods better than the mazdas do.

 

AWD Turbo pushing about 270+ hp and runs low 14's/high 13's on average. Because it has AWD I'd probably take it over the MazdaSpeed 3 which has FWD.
