2006 mustang roush...should I??
My friend has a 2006 roush mustang.is this basically a gt with roush exhuast and markings/interior. Its 5 speed. What is really different between his car and a gt besides a the dress up and exhuast?? its bone stock and I looked under the hood and It looks just like any other stock 05+ gt. Everyone around here think its some kind of super car. we are supposed to race when it gets warmer, should I have anything to worry about??? Ill have my lt's on by then.

Well seeing as how we don't know where you live "warmer" could be in a month or it could be in 4 months. Reguardless he could mod his 06 Roush and if he has the money to spend on it then its likely to say you might be in touble. HOWEVER if he leaves it the way it is you will be racing a GT Mustang with exhaust (if it is side exhaust its actually more restrictive). People probably think its a super car because it looks badass.

If it's a Stage 3 (supercharged) then you might have problems. Unless, of course, you've got a few bolt-ons handy..........in which case, HE'LL have problems.
BTW, if this Roush owner is 45 years old or more.......I'd bet the farm the car doesn't have any additional modifications done to it. Showroom condition for sure.

No offense to Ford owners as I have had quite a few myself,Roush stage 1 cars are nothing to worry about stock.I drove a 427R and considered it before I bought my 07 Vette 6 speed,The 427R felt like a lot of hype.I only considered it because it had a little more room,But at 45k+ for the Roush versus $40K GMS for the waaaaaaaaaaaay quicker and more fun Vette I just couldn't do it.You should be just fine!

as for this race. if your a good driver and hes stock you should pull out maybe a 1-3 car length win. if your not, should be a good race

What about the ones that are slightly used going for for around 35k? This is a serious question.

you will take him i took a 2006 gt with the more agressive gearing, intake and exhaust back when i was stock with a bad throwout bearing and a 260lb passanger. O and he took the hit also.

maybe for a collector who wants a bunch of different cool cars for his collection. but for a regular guy busting his *** to buy a something fast, i'd get a used C6 for maybe $36-37k.

If you're a "regular guy busting his *** to buy a something fast," why are you looking at $35-$40k cars?

No hes 18 but he will never mod it. he had 20's stuffed under it but they rubbed a lot and he finally took them off. hes all about looks. I found out today when I looked at his car that it says GT on the circle emblem on the back, so I guess that means its not a real roush and just has the roush body kit/emblems/and rear square exhuast tips fitted into the bumper. and carbon fiber dash accents. I guess Ill take him up on the race. my car is going to be cammed, and full bolt-ons by spring. Im in indiana and it probably wont get into the 60's until late march
