A fox with a properly built/tuned 347 should handle a lightly modded LS1...

Race and find out.

a <350hp crate motor is weak because, while you can buy chevy crate motors making at or around 300hp, there isnt an lsx owner anywhere who would put on in his/her (now that's some politically correct **** ) car because it makes less power than stock. ergo, if any sensible person would only put a crate motor in thier ride that's more powerful than the stocker (esp if it's an upgrade), and his choice of crate motor is less powerful than a stock ls1 (these dyno at more than 330 on an engine dyno out of the box w/ and w/o accessories), it is a VERY weak choice.

I'm sure there are people that put crate LT1s or LS1s in their 3rd gens or something like that. I get what you're saying, and I agree... was just saying that it isn't just Ford that makes "crate motors" that aren't all that strong.

but at the same time a 310-350 hp fox would take down a lot of stock ls1s w/ a decent tire and driver. horsepower isnt everything.

the crate motor came with a edelbrock 600cfm carburetor but he took it off and put his stock 5.0 intake manifold with 24 pound injectors

I have a buddy who has the 347 but it's stroked with H/C and a few other little goodies and he runs 11.50's with it in his lighter fox but he had the same exact motor in a slightly heavier one and ran 12.16. Hope this might help you a little. Oh this one is full bolt-ons as well.

no doubt, a fox does not need a alot of power to run good times. Set up right they can be a handful
