347 fox A friend of mine just got a blueprint 347 stroker crate motor for his fox body mustang it has 330hp and 380 tq 9:5.1 compression and i have a 2002 camaro ss a4 with a k&n fipk intake, edelbrock ceramic shortie headers, a comp 212/218 522/529 cam slp exhaust and 85 hp shot of nos you guys think i could take him just on the motor alone or if I would have to squeeze on him ?

yea hes going to leave it the way it is me and him have a big chevy vs ford thing going on he could never beat me with his bolt on 5 liter motor so he ordered a 347 to try to beat me

You can get all sorts of Chevy V8 crate motors too... and I'm sure some of them are either less hp than that, about the same, or barely any more. As for the race, I'd be wary. You have more power, but his car weighs quite a bit less. Does he have different gears?
347 stroker Be carefull!! My buddies old 347 stroker in his 1992 notch back ran 11.0's @ 119mph. The new motor is a 374 and it does 10.50 @ 124mph.. and this was all motor!!

+1 what model fox body? notch,lx,gt? ive got a friend with a 347(not crate motor) that he built(AFR heads big cam,ect) car made over 400rwhp in a notchback fox and it was a nasty little car! If its just a stock crate 347 you should have no prob with him though.
i had a friend that had one he stroked himself, full bolt-ons, cam, trickflows..... ran 13.30's N/A so i say you have a good shot. and he is a decent driver..

too many factors to consider...if he's 5spd, lightweight and good driver you better spray. If he's got a junk slushomatic aod or bad driver you may be alright without. Watch him run someone else first w/o him knowing your watching if possible...drive another car

i was looking on GMPP website and they make an LS crate engine called the LS376/515 6.2L that has 15 more claimed HP than the LS7 and 1ft/lbs less i think its a revised LS3 not sure http://www.gmperformanceparts.com/Pa...l.jsp?engine=2
