Default Some guys at work want me to run a 98 GT

Some of my friends at work are trying to set up a race between myself and this guy who owns a '98 GT T-5. His mods are Trick Flow Heads and Trick Flow Intake, 3.90 gears, 100 Wet Shot, LT headers, and DR. I have heard his car at Idel and I could hear a small cam(s), but still noticable. He also got a super chip tune for his car. His friend said that he ran 13.2 at 4,400 Ft of elevation. Im not to sure how much faster his car would run at sea level. I know that he should get me from a dig since he has DR and my BridgeStones are almost 3 years old. My mods are in my sig. I would like to hear what you all think the race would be from say a 30 roll. Also what do you think he would dyno. I was thinking about 350rwhp to 370rwhp. Thanks in advance.

Thats the elevation of Reno. Be careful if he damn near ran a 12 at reno as his car prob runs high 11s at sealevel.

dont let him use the bottle try to race him from a roll. cause if he has dr's and a 100 shot he will spank you off the line and you will not catch him. But a roll race with no bottle and i bet you would take him.

I was hoping his car would be mid 12's. But if he running high 11's then I guess it would be a good death.

If they set up the race I will try to run him once on the bottle and once off. I have never backed out of a race before. But I also never gotten an AZZ WHOOPIN either. Im just hoping for respectable runs for the TA.

ya i would not back down either. it would be real easy for you to pick up a pait of used salad shooters with dr's and a used nitrous kit also. you could do both for $700 fairly easily.

Race him on and off the bottle, from digs and rolls. It's all fun. Who cares if you win or lose. Losing just makes you want more mods, which is a good thing.

I would try to get some drag radials first, though.

FYI....no such thing as Trick Flow heads for a 4.6 (98 GTs come with a 4.6 2V). Could be a 94/95 GT that came with the 5.0, or he could just be BSing about the heads.

From NHRA Altitude Correction Chart, 13.2 @ 4400 ft would correct to 12.48 at sea level.

It could be a '95 mustang. I did see under the hood and seen the big trick flow intake and it said trick flow across the valve cover. So it might be a 95 in stead of a 98.

Almost certainly was a 94 or 95 then. HP would be pure speculation, but perhaps 280-ish RWHP NA.

Well for comparisons sake, I ran a 12.9@112 here with a 2.1 60' minus the rear/pulley/tune. Run him and have fun, that's what it's all about anyways right?

trick flow does not make valve covers or heads for 2 valves. they make an upper plenum/elbow for the 2v's but thats about it. probably a 94 or 95 gt with those kinda mods.

I really need to get some DR. I have a lot of trouble getting traction here in el paso with all the sand and dust. My tires are just to old. I want to get a heads and cam package with a well hidden dry shoot. I will see if he is up for running this week or maybe the weekend. I am also working on my tune right now I have the cruise done. Now I just need to work on my WOT runs.
