no they didnt the srts were made in 03,04, and 05. i owned a 05. the only diff in the 04,05 compared to the 03 is they added a limited slipdiff. and tweeked a little bit to up the stock hp from 215 to 230. the stage 1 kit was still available aftermarket for all three years but was a waste of money and pics up basically 10-15 overpriced hp.
right, if he's stock you should have no prob. i raced my buddy when he had his srt (now owns an 06 gto) stage 2 with exhaust aka dump...dig, you'll rape him, don't race him if ur outta ur powerband. he left me pretty hard from 40 and 50 rolls (i'm pretty much stock except for a lid, and a hypertech for my shift firmness and points)
03 Srt4s have different injectors then 04 and 05s.... 04 and 05s cames with Stg 1 injectors. But for the complete Stg1 upgrade, you need to get the pcm. Stg2 cars really arent any faster unless they are properly tuned with a SAFC or DTEC. They run way rich with the factory tune, which makes them lose alil power actually.... Until tuned atleast.
From a dig, it all depends on what the Srt4 has for tires and his skills to depend on the outcome. I have an 05 Srt4 and with just a AGP WGA I got a 13.3@102 at MIR with 93 degree weather.... And I only dynoed 210whp with that setup.... On the lowside of what most dyno, but I could care less about the dyno numbers.
Now I have a 3" 02 Housing, 3" DP with cutout and some fuel mods running 21psi and have 301whp out of the stock turbo. If you go from a roll, it will be a closer race being you have an auto....

And I only dynoed 210whp with that setup.... On the lowside of what most dyno, but I could care less about the dyno numbers.

I raced a modded one a couple weeks ago and beat him, I am still completly stock. I won from several different rolls. we never ran from a dig. I would instantly jump out ahead and then slowly pull away from him after that and pull about two cars on him at most. I didn't destroy him but a win is a win.
stock or lightly modded, its a sure win...BUT modded, they can be scary fast: 1 heavily modded in my town with a big turbo is pushing 450+whp( I think he could beat me but his big turbo has a big lag..)
