Default Acura RSX vs me lil 01 TA vert

an old friend of mine here has a dark Green acura rsx i would guess 2003-2005ish. never asked him the year intake, exhaust, cam "no clue what kind"and a few other things im assuming.

we always see each other going opposite directions and finally a few days ago we just happend to be on the same street going the same way. so at the stoplight he was telling me he is selling it to get a 01 camaro SS. i told him cool. finally your getting up into the Man league. he laughed. anyhow light went green and i figured he wasnt gonna try me. im just slowly rolling off and he at first is also alittle faster than me. at about 40 mph for me he is about 3 cars ahead and i see that smoke shoot out and his exhaust rev up heh. so i knew he was gonna see if i could catch him. by the time i punched it i was at about 48 mph still dead zone bottom of second for me still by 100 mph i passed him and just let off after i put about 4 more cars on him at about 120ish. he waved and we went our seperate ways. i basically hit 3rd gear about right as i was directly parallel with him.

He definately was faster than any rsx's id had run before. he had some good Mid range pull for his car. well anyhow im sure i sealed the deal of him selling it for a ls1 for sure now heh.

sounds like a fun lil run. I just bought a 02 Type S rsx and it does run really good. its got a gay exhaust on it and a cheap intake, and i do make fun of Vtec alot, but when it hits 6200rpms it pegs 8200 rite away.

Get a decent CAI on it and a Hondata reflash... turns it into a whole different animal

They'd be a nice DD car too. You know, with their little 4cyl motors.

... the new Si is (for all intents and purposes) the same motor as the one in the RSX-S. And the 99-00 Si was the B16a2, which was DOHC, and had VTEC on both the intake and exhaust sides... care to explain?

It's an '03 Si so it has the K20. I was under the impression that the Si and type S had the identical K20 motor and that the type-R had a K20 with a a2 head as apposed to the a3 head.

The '03 Si has the K20a3 just like the base RSX. Decent potential (especially with a headswap), but it was slower in stock form than the 99-00 Si... which is weak

ill try to find out what cam he has. but i walked ihm hard and from bottom of second 3 cars back before i hit 101mph basically so i dont think much of those cars unless they have FI

just like the old 92ish accord that used a 100shot on me and i still pulled him. nothing without FI though im sure if the accord had a 20 shot it would have been different.... him with blown engine.. LOL

I also have a race with my computer IT college Teach. ill make a post about it should be interesting.
