Stock 02 C5 Z06 vs. Full exhaust pullied 03-04 Cobra

Yup, a pulley'd Cobra isn't going to kill a stock Z06 and the Z06 isn't going to kill the Cobra. If anything it would be a damn good race!

My car only has a K&N air filter. The Cobra has headers, orx, Loudmouth exhaust, 2.8 upper pulley, crank pulley, intake and tune. The Cobra is making 15 lbs of boost and dynos is the 45x whp range.
We did about 4 runs. 2 races were from 35mph and two from 40mph. Every race was close race with me beating him between a 1/2 car to a full car by 120-130mph. Each run we both caught traction and I pulled slowly all the way up to 120/130mph. Good runs none the least. I'm glad to say that I'm able to keep up with a car that fast.
Thanks for listening to my story

JD first of all good kill.
I saw your car last saturday race a few cars I know and I must say your car runs better then most 405hp z06's with just a cai.
The 405hp bolt-on black z06 you raced runs door to door with the green fox that traps 123 and from what I seen it looked like a close
race with him out in front by very little. You have a fast stock car I almost wonder if you will gain much from bolt-ons. I personally think you should
try racing a ported blower with the correct bolt-ons. You won't find very many pullied cobras around here trapping low 120's due to the texas heat.
You should run the red tt gto that was out there or the green coupe.
I tired of the pissing matches about beating pullied cobras. Cobras are like any other car combo ie{tune,pulley size,exhaust setup,}
makes a difference on how fast they are. They only difference is outside heat effects the cobra more then a na or and even turbo cars thanks to the eaton aka heaton.
Just like the ls1 based cars the cobras are the same way. I have seen stock z06's run as fast as mid-low 12's at 119 and as slow as high 13's at 108 .
I have seen stock cobras run low 12's at 114 and stock cobras run mid 13's at 106. I have seen full bolt-on z06's trap as high as 123 and as low as 114.
I have seen full bolt-on pullied cobras trap as high as 123 and as low as 110. I have seen h/c z06's trap as high as 127 and as low as 119. I have seen ported blower cobras trap
as high as 128 and as low as 117. When racing the 2 cars there is such a large gap between what they the run it serves not purpose to agrue about it.
So in reality it's a dead end agruement.
Race the cars and have a good time.

My car doesn't have an intake. All I have is just a K&N air filter for now. I don't have any plans on doing any major mods right now since I'm saving up for a built motor and blower.
The only reason I posted on the SVT boards is because I wanted to run another pullied Cobra just to test my car. I really can't say that the pullied Cobra I ran is the norm, for all I know he could be slower than the average pullied Cobra but who knows.
