Edit: Maybe in your brand-blindness you didn't see the fact that I was responding to the guy I QUOTED that said he wouldn't be worried about a Mach 1 unless it was boosted and sprayed... and all he has is a VERY MILD bolt-on LS1.

I'd like to know how you are 100% sure the mach had 'full exhaust'? With full exhaust (even without a improved incoming air) machs put down stock LS numbers...you toss better gear ratios (1-3, 4th matches the T56), and better rear gears (3.55s vs. 3.42s)..he had the jump...I just don't get it. started in second at 65?...um, okie dokie...that was bad, bad, bad. Had he started in third, he would have had a better jump....trust me. He would have been in 2nd for a split second. He probably started in 3rd and hit 5th while you were in 4th...now THAT would make sense....dumb on his part hitting 5th, but if you noticed two gear changes, I can almost assure you it was 3-4-5.
Nice runs nontheless.

I disagree, I think stock Mach 1 = stock LS1. I ran a Mach 1 that isn't even broken in with O/R H pipe, catback, and a shifter to a 13.2 the very first run ever in the car. With alittle seat time at the track in this car it would have been a high 12 second car. Factor in the fact that its not broken in and who knows what it would run with 20,000 on the clock. Freak Mach 1? Possible but I've never been disapointed with a 5 speed Mach 1...I've been disapointed with a LS1 before.

HAHA...POT, meet Kettle.

I like how you give credit, then talk **** about over rating.....I'm sorry, I didn't know you owned one.
I should have clarified.....I was talking HP numbers. I thought that was a given considering I refered to gearing after that. Machs with full exhaust and tune are ~300+, which is stock LS1 area.

Ah gotcha. However it doesn't take LS1 power to outrun a LS1 in one of these cars.

It's cool...
Yep....along with a few others. However, I've been told he 'gets smacked in the mouth' alot. Something about a guy named cannibal?...IDK though..could be a rumor...could be.
HAHA..sorry, couldnt' resist.

Not exactly. E46 m3's have 333hp and ls1's have (ahem) 305-325 stock. So if you go by the book, you are correct, but those numbers from GM miiiiiight be a little off. Then you can get into torque ....
You're right about the Mach 1's though - they move out! Stock vs. stock, it comes down to the driver mod.
