Default Aother LS1 win

So coming home this afternoon. i got a red light on hillsborough ave in tampa. i'm first in line in the middle lane and a newish red infinity g35 2 door coupes pulls up next to me in the left lane. i had passed him a mile down the road as he had just got on the road. it had dual fart cans to blow out the exhaust, but didn't sound fartish. anywho, back to the race...
light turns green and i eased into first gear like i normally would... until he punched it. being about 1.5 car lengths behind him i decided to punched it too for sh*ts and giggles. without putting the clutch in, I wasted a good 2 seconds, but by mid 2nd gear 45mph-ish i caught him and by the time i got into 3rd, he was 2 car lengths behind me and by 80mph-ish he gave up and was bus lengths behind. then he tried catching up to me in traffic, but couldn't b/c of heavy traffic. i guess he might have been pissed, b/c the g35 looked within a year of being a brand new car lol. ops... sorry guy! don't mess with a bolt-on LS1. he should've know better huh?

the 350z's are quicker than the g35's due to wieght.....watch out for the 2007-2008 z's they can be a handful if driven right. I've personally seen a stock 08 350z running low
13's @ around 104....not too shabby I've had some descent races against em but have yet to get killed by one.

sounds good guys! the g35 sound decent for having a fart muffler, it didn't sound like diarrhea like hondas and toyotas do... even seen v6 camaros and dodge intrepid in my area with fart cans that sound terrible!

The OP was a little arrogant but there's no need for you to be like that. There are a lot of guys on here that can come in here and say the same thing to you.

i know thats why i said it. theres too many nasty cars out there to even think that a bolt on anything can or should be feared.

I get what you're saying now. I completely agree. Theres no room for over confidence in racing because thats when you get hustled by a sleeper.

Glad to hear you killed an import but like the others said, just be aware that there are other cars out there that are pretty quick as well and will walk you just as bad as you beat him. Im not trying to take anything away from your kill, just a lil something to think about. Hey I see your in Port Richey, do you goto any local car shows or meets around here? Miamifan I see your from around here too. How about you?

I go to Courtney Campbell Bridge/Tampa every so often....sometimes go to Quaker State & Lube in Pinellas Park. Really haven't had time for myself lately. In the process of moving to Kentucky so I've been busy trying to make that happen. Nice ride btw

Word...I know of a turbo Beetle that runs 7's but by looking at it you would never know it. I've watched this guy smoke a twin turbo c5 Zo6 that was throwing down about 850 hp like nothing.

Nice kill OP. There are a lot of people who think that old cars are slow compared to new ones. They are the arrogant fools that need to have a big honkin' slice of humble pie. The newer 350Z and G35 are pretty stout cars. Pulling 300bhp out of a N/A V6 is impressive.

my arrogance is only when dealing with other bolt-on cars. had it been a close race, i wouldn't have made such a comment...

lame excuse??? you were being sarcastic and i returned the favor in a joking manor... calm down dude! you want to get down to it... how many valves are in you engine...? not 16! there's another advantage to you. besides, you're s/c makes up the difference in cubes. plus, i don't think ford would have given your powertrain a warrnenty on a s/c'ed car with 11 to 1 compression ratio! you're comparing apples and oranges. i mean really guy, ease up. with all bolt-on only N/A cars, the LS1 cars are probably the fastest(besides the C6s and C5 Z06) and that was my point. i'm sorry if you or anyone else got steered into another direction on what i meant by that.
