Bench racing, what was i racing???
So if it is meaningless then everyone would have have small engines because of the benefits in weight and fuel economy. I can explain it to you if you want but i am not sure you will understand it.
You are asserting that power per liter makes no difference?
Please man tell me who has an advantage a built small block making 400 horsepower or a b18 making 400 horsepower. The power curve on those two motors is completely different not to mention the reliabality. As the power per liter goes up, the reliabality goes down and so does the driveability. It is not too hard to understand.
sorry to the op i am not trying to start a fight just educating people.

What a lot of ****. The advantage lies in the ******* faster vehicle....You just cannot deal with the reality of existing some other fast cars in the face of the Earth rather than your LS1. Find some other kids to educate...this is LS1tech. You are not impressing anyone.

Thanks for the compliments guys.
Just for the sake of interesting facts, you can build a 450whp Honda for the price of a 9" rear, boltons, and a 100shot, drive it every day and still get 30+mpg around town. Granted, most people don't know that so you don't see a lot of them around, lol.

Now the one Excpt..is a guy Named SANTOStheMotorcycleslayer..LOL ive linked a vid of him vs a Z06 with Cam and AFR heads... and it not a walk but almost a car length ... and he blew up 2 or 3 before he got real good and real fast .. Just some input
Oh did i say i have V-I-D-E-O???? Yes.. Yes i did

Holy smokes this thread blew up.
For reasons that are buried deep in the dungeons of physics, yes you can take a stock 1.8L Bseries engine, make 450whp, and be dead **** reliable for quite some time. I know it's been said again and again in this thread, but tuning is key. At 450whp on a stock engine if it detonates the engine goes. I've spent a good amount of time tuning Honda's now, and the new softwares that are out now are amazing and will regulate and control just about everything you can think of. A year or two ago, completely unheard of. Now, it's slowly becoming commonplace.
Yes, it can be done for $5-6K, that of course does not mean that it should be, just that it can. And heck, if we were all hear just to go really fast we'd all be buying foxbodies for dirt cheap and throwing a 250shots and slicks on them. Sometimes it's just nice to do it with something different, which is where the imports come in. And like I said, a 450whp Honda will do what a 650rwhp Camaro will do on the street. Spin till 80 and then roll the **** out.
It takes more than a monkey who can turn a wrench to make a Honda go 10s with any form of reliabilty. Unlike with the LS1, you can't just throw an I/H/E, gears and a tune on it and go throw down some low 12s.

Could have bogged the launch, could be Bullshitting, could be tuned poorly, could have been having boost leak issues, clutch might not be holding..BLAH BLAH BLAH
He put down a crappy time, 485 whp depending on the SUS setup and driving etc that should be a 10secound car..
Again not every car is the same, and not every car is setup right or will do the same as another
