Lol! You know, I am just not impressed with those cars stock. Even the new Challenger, if you can believe Motor Trend (Which usually you can't!) only gets a ****-poor 0-60 time of 5.2 with its 425hp SRT-8. Now, with a good tune and maybe a little forced induction...then I might be impressed.

Says 3,450lbs here, and I haven't seen one place say more than 3,500lbs...

I havent been very impressed with the new Roush's. But all the 05 and up stangs have an absurd amount of torque management, they need a good tune before they can be takin seriously.

The new GT's start in at just under 3500 lbs.....moving upwards to about 3550ish depending on options. There's no way the 427R weighs less than a stock GT.......considering the body kit, chrome rims, and....oh yea.......the blower. Those cars are weighing in over 3650 lbs.......at least.
And I wasn't under the impression that the S197s were slow because they weighed more The previous gen GT's weighed around 100 lbs less and are still a half a second slower in the 1/4. Continuously running into tools who don't know their car or how to drive it doesn't automatically make all such cars dog slow. That's "forum logic".....not reality. There's been plenty of guys who've taken their stock S197's into the 13.4-13.5 1/4 range......and a few who've managed a bit better. That's a far cry away from being bad times for a lowly 300hp 3500 lb GT.
