Nice man, I had a 95 camaro 5 speed 3.4L with 160k on it and i would put about about 2 cars on V6 mustangs in the 8th mile i'd run about 10.40 (1/8th). It was a long time ago but I think the few I had raced with 96-97 ish. I even had that thing put on a chassis Dyno when I was at NTI in NC. She put down 130hp at the wheels, thing was a monster...!

this is gonna sound ridiculous but the closest 1/8 strip is junk and my friends el camino with a cammed 305 couldnt get traction until a good bit down the track ran a best of 11.52 my best was a 11.2 with mild brake boosting (didnt wanna break traction). my uncles malibu that is somewhere around 600 hp at the crank on a 3 link runs 6.7 all day. so i dont know if the track is junk or if thats typical. sorry for the

I hate v6 pony cars anyway but you should have atleast bought a 3.8 to compete with fords 3.8. The 3.4 is a terd. Either one of the 3.8's run good for what they are

Yea, I ran my 98 sixxer Stang against my buddies 97 Firebird 3.8 once upon a time. Boy......was that clash of the titans.

It can be quite alot of fun (and hilarious) to run two rediculously slow cars against one another.

FWIW, my 3.8 got my buddies' out of the hole pretty good (my car being alot lighter). But he finally crept past me at about 80mph. We were both autos.

Gotta have the 3800.
But then again I don't think they offered that engine until 95 but I could be mistaken.

They are pretty slow.. 3.4's can put down a mid 16 in the 1/4 on a good day.

I'm wishing I would have bought the 3.8 Camaro for a V6... Trust me.. I just got a pretty good deal on my car, and so thats why I bought it..

When I was in high school I was relegated to my grandmom/sister's '96 Taurus GL (3.0 155hp Vulcan dumdumdum!!) for a while, and I raced my friend in his mom's '95 4cyl Caravan. It was dead even from 0-70mph, and during that 2 minutes both our girlfriends were yelling at us trying to get us to slow down

You are correct sir, my CA model 3800 V6 Camaro is a '95 so its the lightest model & year you can get with the 3.8L.. Its a brute. I think the rest of the US got 3.8's in '96.

It's a shame the 3.8's didn't get near the development of LTx & LSx engines but they are gutsy and can take more beatings than Tina Turner.. Shoot, my GS-R is dead even with the Camaro in 1st & most of 2nd before it steadily VTAKs away & it has bolt-ons.. the Camaro is bone stock to the paper filter. But I still want an LSx swap no matter how many crap cars it pulls on.

Yeah, when I was 17 I ran into an A4 Y87 V6 Camaro that I ran from a stop to ~90mph. I didn't get the best launch, and I didn't pass him till 75-80mph. They are definitely low 15s cars on the right day.

Also.. I'm picking up my O2 sensor in a little bit, and i'm hoping this will fix my problem so we can have some better results this weekend ..
when you are at WOT(floored) the car isnt using the o2 sensors anyways so if i were you id look for problems elsewhere... i dont think your 02 sensor is holding you back. Id check for proper fuel pressure. If your pump is going out your motor will die on the top end. The faster the motor spins the more fuel is needed and the more important a healthy fuel pump is. Id start there....

the 3.4's have NO top end, people have found if you short shift them a little bit, they get better times since they arent choking out in the higher RPMs
