Default Finally got an sti

Cliff notes: Pulled up next to newer sti with exhaust and he pulled in first from a dig but i passed him pretty hard when i hit third.

Well i was heading home last night with my girl in my car and i come up to a red light with a nice two lane road ahead of me. Then a damn nice white with dark gray wheels and a good sounding exhaust sti (looked to be an 2007 or so) stops next to me so i throw a rev at him and he gives me the nod. Then i start bringing my rpms up because i know need to launch well if i have a chance. So i bring them up just a little too high and start to bring them down and then bam the light goes green so we are off. He walks out on me in first as i spin somewhat badly (16x8's with deacent tread) so he has a good length and a half out on me in first. I shift to second and i stop his pull in the first part of the gear, when i get the in the top half i am getting to his back bumper. I see him hit third and i do about the same time and that is when i start roaring by him. Right when i get past him we both shut it down. It was fun because i always see so many of them cruising around here and it was nice to take one down.

I was surprised when we both went into third it seems like his car fell off but i knew he was on it. but i guess that is when the awd kills those cars and that is when our m6's come alive.

IMO STi's are the best sounding 4-cylinder out there.

I agree, they are not a bad sounding car at all, especially when you get a big turbo on that bitch.

They sound good compared to other 4 bangers.

Which means they still sound like **** compared to a real engine.

I always wondered how that race would be, there are a good amount in my area as well. The other day when i had the camaro out, one got on my *** and then ripped it by me and cut across two lanes i thought of following but i wasnt really in the mood... Nice kill and i would agree that the right exhaust set up on those cars makes them sound good.

there is one around here that sounds almost like a V8. i don't know what exhaust it has, but it sounds OK (compared to other coke-bottle motors, that is).

WRC competition. Peugeot, Citroen, & Ford have been stomping them for the past few seasons with hatches. They are just now playing catch up. Hey, at least their reasoning is to make the car faster (the race car anyways). And they do look much better in person, being a former STi owner I hated it when I first saw pics. Can't say much for the standard WRX hatch though, it still looks like crap.

ya it is that way with a lot of cars for me they look ugly then they grow on me. I hope it is that way with the new camaro, not saying it is ugly but i hope it grows on me.

For a 4cyl they sound pretty decent with a good catback. Most 4cyl are very high pitched, these are kinda deep.
