Default short and sweet

- I see a brand new BMW M5 in my rearview weaving in/out to get next to me
- We catch a light and my cover is partially blown due to cam lope
- Light goes green and I roll into 1st, bang 2nd & then 3rd
- Check rearview and he's a good 15 back
- Guy in a Jag pulls up next to me at next light and says, "you kicked his *** & he's driving a $90k car!!!
- I acknowledge and put put away

Nice kill. 15+ cars, though? Are you sure he got on it? Those things trap like 115 or so in the 1/4, but with that motor, I would imagine you're putting down some serious power. Give us more info on your car.

The M5 puts out around 450 at the crank (could be way wrong on that) and with his 394ci and an apparently huge lope..i'm guessing more than 550 with that asskicking he put on him

Yea i knew they were around 500 crank. What huge lope? Where did we get a clue what mods were done to the 394? But you're probably right, 15 cars is alot, I'm sure he's guessing lol.

I've driven the E60 M5 on more then one occasion and if you put 15 CL's on one through 3rd gear you are either putting down crazy power, he wasn't in "P500" mode or he really wasn't trying. Definitely want to hear about your mods.

BTW, the M5 only puts down the full 507HP if you have it in "P500" mode. If it's not in that mode then it's only running at 400HP.

It's a heavy sled but it's got an incredible motor in it. You really can't appreciate what it's capable of on the street, you have to take it out on the highway. Once you get over 120 and really get in it's powerband, it's an incredible rush of speed that seems like it's never going to stop.

One could probably say the same things about the C6

true, but at the top end this V10 is in another class. With it's gearing and power it will eat a stock C6's lunch at speeds above 140. Through 4th it's a great race but once a C6 hits 5th, an M5 or M6 (both share the same V10) will walk away. You need Z06 type power to keep playing with it there.

Very true. I've always wanted to drive one of those beasts...how is the handling on them?

It won't hang with a C6 on the track but it's very good considering it's a 4,000+ lbs. sedan. It ran a 8:13 at the Ring which is faster then a F355 and a Boxster, and the same time the 2004 Viper got when it was tested there in late 2004.

Sweet. I definitely would not mind one.

neither would I. Only problems are it's 100K fully loaded and maybe gets 10-11 mpg in the city and 15 on the highway if you keep your foot out of it. But it you have enough money for the car you probably care less about how much gas it needs. Hell you could buy a new Z06 and a new G8 for what the M5 costs and have a track animal and a daily driver.

Hmm good idea!
But you're right about the people buying those definitely don't do it for the MPG.

My car is no killer but trapped 124mph before the FTRA, Yella Terra's & Mamo ported FAST...15 cars was a guess but it was a slaughter. I'm very confident he was in it to win it.
