I got into a different crowd lastnight and ended having a few runs. There were some diesel guys saying they were racing and I asked if anybody wanted to run me. Being alright guys the one said "Yeah I'll race anything it doesn't matter win or lose." So we roll down to a less crowded area and inspect each others vehicles.

His 06 Powerstroke 6spd. He was running a 150shot and had exhaust and a programmer.

I told everybody that asked my mods and said it runs what an average LS1 should. They had no clue. This is mustang territory.

While we are talking they said their other buddy wants to watch or run and he is on his way. They were all talking up his built 5.0 so I was kinda excited about it.

Guy shows up while I have the hood up and first thing he says while he is walking up is "This is the car that beat the cobra and my brother's car." Everybody let out their now less optimistic outlook on the upcoming race. 5.0 guy says I want to run too and the powerstroke guy says get in line LOL!

Anyway we are supposed to start at 15 so the truck doesn't blow off the tires and three honks. I get beside his truck and can't hear a damn thing. His exhaust exits right beside me and when he brake boosts to spool I go and he goes. I actually let off because I wasn't sure. My passenger NEVER heard a honk either. Anyway that truck hung decently through 2nd and quickly fell back after that.

5.0 rolls up and we slow to about 10 and I get ready to honk it off. He takes off on one!!!! Doesn't matter I catch him and walk it pretty bad. Couldn't tell how far back he was because he was way back. It is a low 14 car by my estimates. I looked under the hood after and he had at least a cam, decent 4bbl intake, holley, and what looked like some weight reduction. I didn't say it but his cobra was a faster car. He said he'd be spraying next time. I hope so because that would be a good race

Anyway we get back to the meeting spot and I talk to the 5.0 guy about his cobra. It is a 99 with full exhaust, 4:10s, tuning, and pretty much most of the bolt ons. The gt hood was on there because the factory hood was damaged and the gt hood was a quick/cheap. He said he busted 3rd gear right after we ran but once fixed we'll run again. I politely told him I have changed the shot plugs so my car is a little faster now but I'm game.

I also now have a hookup on cheap nitrous refills. Makes a kit that much more tempting.

dude i attent a vocational training school on diesel's i love ehm but am not ate up with ehm. This boy looks at me whats your camaro got in it i said a 350 my 1993 Z28 six speed. Well he has the cummins diesel with the turbo waste gate blocked off an is so ate up with them he thinks he would outrun my car for sure. Freaking morons

 

No kidding eh? It seems like those Dodge owners are the worst of them all. Around here they're all redneck sheep rapers with stacks coming out of the bed.

There are definitely some fast ones, but it's funny to see someone driving a dually stacked lifted POS, and see the lok on their face when they realize that it runs 17's even with their bullydog tune.

 

Lid, filter, sux2bu style ram air (I can feel a difference),free stuff, weight reduction (a.i.r. foglights,spare,windshield washer,bumper, etc....), and I tune it. Got a little more aggressive on the tuning last week and it runs good. If I had to guess low low 13s for sure.

Nitrous is definitely on the future mod list...Hell I have my buddies old h/c package just staring at me waiting for me to get the supporting mods in so I can run it.

The powerstroke guy was cool for sure. He has a filling station at his house and he refills cheap!
