I love it! BTW, Nice kill OP. 350Z's are fun to play with cause most 350 drivers think their car's the baddest on the road.

I've seen pics of the "Nismo" Z. It looks pretty good. I read a test where it ran a 13.9 or 13.8. So nice kill!

Not for long they don't. The 90-96 TT 300's smoked them when they first came out. Even the new 300hp 350's are not all that much, just 13more hp at the crank than the older 287hp 350's. I've also heard power loss from the crank to the wheels is pretty high as well. My older 300zx z31 with its light mods can out run a 350, and I think I might be getting 220 if I am lucky at the wheels.

Barring a car like the Evo X or GTR, the 350 really shines in its handling: .94g or some such the cars are F'ing fantastic corner huggers.

The '07+ 350Zs are quite a bit quicker than their predecessors... capable of low 13s @ 105mph+

About the supercharger comment for the 350....a dealer around here has a silver z with body kit, hood, Stillin blower at 5lbs, exhaust, and Tein fully adjustable suspension with the electronic control from the cabin and only 4k miles on it. Still under warrenty. It was faster than my car...but I was dissapointed in it. They said 405 at the crank, so 350-380 at the wheels? Didn't feel nearly as fast as I thought it should be. And too much damn money. Full bolt on lsx car would take down that car I think.

350Z's = completely overrated. I ran a G a few months ago in my DD and he had a turbo on it pushing prolly 360 to the wheels. He had me by like 2 lengths from a dig to 80, if I had any kind of work done other than stock it would've been dead even...

Yep, I think that would make a nice DD. When I was in the Navy my roommate got the first one in this county. It was a good GT car for trips.

My other friend ended up with an RX-8 and he regretted that purchase after a V8 lincoln LSC dusted him from a stoplight. Now he rocks an EVO IX with cams, exhaust, clutch, and tuning. It's getting a BIG turbo and retune when he comes back from a the gulf.

I'm still waiting on head gaskets and a clutch then I can do the H/C and nitrous install. I have my friend Mike's Supra TT and buddy's Evo to spank after that. Parts purchase on hold since the wife bought a $4k Kingsize bed and a $2k kitchen set. At least I have my 54" TV

350Zs aren't drag or roll cars, nor should their owners be using them that way.
If you want to see a nismo Z shine take it to the track (the one with turns).
The 350z is an amazing track car in stock form, and the Nismo is even better with bigger brakes, better aero, and weight reduction and suspension mods a plenty..
As for drag racing they don't have the torque, ability to hook up or the gearing for that sport.
Zs have always been track cars, not drag cars.

The same can be said of the Nippon rally cars (Evos/STIs).
I could also say their owners should not be using them for straight line ****, and should ONLY be using them for rally, rallycross, autocross and road racing/'time attacks'.
But that does not seem to stop the importees from turning them into pure drag race rides, does it??

So you concede every race but going from a dig to the imports? Come on we both know thats not true, equally not true is imports cannot go from a dig.

he never said anything like that.
The guy discerningZ32 said the Z shines in a road course, and he said the STi and Evo were the built with that in mind, not tackling the 1320 as quick as possible. He never said they couldn't be built to do just that but it would take more to do that than a Camaro or Mustang would.

Exactly.
I mean, technically if they were hardcore into the 1/4 mile they could swap in just about any motor and mutilate their suspension so they could dig in.
The point is that Nissan has always designed THE Z (I don't care about other cars in this conclusion) to be a handling and road course car.
Anything can drag race, anything can be built for just about ANY motorsport, but the Z came from the factory with the curves and road race tracks in mind.
Trust me, the Z was tested on twin motegi rings and tsukuba, it spent no time at the 1/4 mile.
If you want the all around beast, look into the GTR. Sorry, I felt I HAD to mention it, it's all I've got until the ZR1 comes out.

What the hell is your deal with imports man? The GT-R is a very very good performing car especially around a road course given its obvious weight disadvantages.

I just DO NOT like them, you have a problem with that??
I never read in the Constitution that one must love, or "respect" the products of another country's companies in order to be a citizen of this country.
But maybe I missed that somewhere?
And guess what, I can still be an 'enthusiast' without loving, "respecting" and worshipping them like all of the gen ricers do (NO MATTER what they drive/own themselves).
But yes, I MUST acknowledge that they can be made fast, and that there are blindingly fast ones out there while still rejecting the fanboy worship.
OK with you?

I NEVER said it was NOT this and possibly more.
But the spamming/trolling uber GTR fanboieezz with their posts every few minutes on here have turned everyone against not only them, but the hype and the car itself.
That this person has brought it up again after having every other one about this Nippon 'God/savior' closed/deleted is what spurred me to suggest that they were in fact our #1 import/GTR fanboy/troll; the infamous Pissy Chrissy.
Got it now??
