LT1 Vs KB Terminator
Can't knock LT1s. My very good buddy had a 94 Z28 A4 with a Vortech blower (5-6psi) on completely stock longblock and rear end that ran 11.4's like clockwork on ET streets (easy 1.7x launches) in the 117-121mph range. Got destroyed in the recent Florida fires!

So last night we are heading home when we get the call. a friend of ours who just got his term back from a build is out and wants to play. Well of course i hood slide like bo duke and get my *** to the usual spot. Pulling up there it is. a mineral gray cobra waitng. So this car back in action is now a KB Terminator. Well say our hellos and bullshit a little and its time.

First Run.
He wasts to go from a roll and i agree since he is on street tires.
We get moving in first gear and honk it off. Third hond and it sounded as if the world ended. Tires grabbing for traction, The KB making the craziest whine, RPMs shooting up from the Kick of the N20. I jump out about two cars and we are gone. Im slapping through gears and the whine is getting louder. At 120 he doesnt just slowly pull by me, He straight ROCKETS past my ***. Its was amazing.
Second Run.
We give a little turn around and the LT1 earns a little respect and we want one more go at it. The Camaro gives a purge to clear its throat and the cobra gives a Rev to remind me that whine still lurks under the hood, First gear roll again, Third honk and here we go again. The mickeys hooked amazing this time and i was way out in front while the KB is still searching for a bite. We are really moving and neither of us are letting out of this race. Burried in 5th and the cobra moving around me. Checking the Speedo thats very unhappy thats its stuck well past 150 + we shut it down.
This was an awesome race and one that i wont forget. It was a bad car. There was never a question if it was fast. For me... It was How fast.

4.10's and you buried the needle? not doubting, but sounds unlikely that he didn't run you down till 150. I just got home from driving a procharged lt1 with 4.10's and that thing wouldn't climb for **** after 110.
The cobra passed at around 120 but he continued untill 150. Also how much PSI was that procharged LT1 pushing?
Ive owned 2 lt1's so i know what they can do. The 97 SS i had would and i swear on this cause i tried it sooo many times, would not go over 135, and its not because of a speed limiter it just wouldnt go any further. Now that car 3.42's and just had bolt ons, and your car has 4.10's, internal work and buries the needle? I know your gana think you gotta prove yourself now but I really really dont see that happenin with 4.10's, seems like you'd run out of gear, but hey........ prove me wrong! Not trying to be a smart *** or start **** just skeptical.

Well your LT's must of been junk, I have owned 3 LT1 cars and all 3 would bury the needle. And no you wont run out of gear when its done right.

Well your LT's must of been junk, I have owned 3 LT1 cars and all 3 would bury the needle. And no you wont run out of gear when its done right.

And what are you talking about if its done right, somebody gana go install gears wrong? Not sure how they would do that unless you were a complete ****** moron!
Couldnt really tell a whole hell of alot with that pro camera man....
Ive seen many gears installed incorrectly. I was talking more motor. I can turn 6700 RPM no problem so i can get moving on top speeds pretty easy. And a minor bolt on 300 hp LT1 is very nice. But i do assure you man it can will and has. Craig buddy. You have seen many of these runs lol Just help me out a bit
Coming from someone who has 450 hp lt1...hell ill take your word for it!

It probly has to do with where the motors made their power. The LS1 up top for good top speed runs and the LT1down low good good quick bursts but lacking for high speeds.

3.23's are good high speed gears which is why i soar past 130 with ease in the LS......but yes the internally stock LT's tend to run out of breath at higher engine speeds.
Tes with the stock converter I could do that all day long but I will not attempt to go past about 130 with the 3600stall I have now. But then I get a triple disk clutch converter those high speed runs will be back. and even more fun with the cam I'm going with. The 230 236 cam in LT1pwrdZ's car really helps him out up top.
