Another Kill to report......EVO

I don't think there really is a lot of hate. 25psi tends to come on and use convinient arguements with "my import has less c.i. and is better than your overweigth domestic" bullshit and all the regulars on this part of the board have gotten pretty tired of it.
There are a lot here, including me, who respect quick imports but people like 25psi just come on to **** people off. He pretty much instigates nothing but flame fests, plain and simple.
As he said, just hang out and listen to him for awhile, and even import guys will start to find him annoying.
Edmunds MR2 specs
It only has 200hp, not 220hp. Here is a dyno sheet of what it makes at the wheels on a modified one....
MR2 Dyno
If you check my previous post, check out the website which clearly states the stock hp's.
"Mid-engine Rear drive, 2 seater and no cut and blow dry about it. The MR2 Turbo is one of the most manly cars on the road, never have i been so intimidated by a car. The rear wheel drive combined with the mid mounted engine will allow the car to snap into and out of oversteer. When you factor in the bhp of 225+ depending on revision the MR2 can be quite a handful and takes skill to tame. An impressive 0-60 in 5.8 secs and 158mph top whack delimited and that's just standard! There were several revisions of the MR2 in the 10 years they were produced from 1989 - 1999. The rev I was made from '89 - '91. This came with smaller brakes, 14" alloys and was improved upon swiftly. In '92 the rev II came with larger brakes, 15" wheels, suspension tweeks to improve wet weather handling. In late '93 came the next rev - substantial engine changes, a new turbo, more boost and 245bhp with Bilsteins now sorting the handling. The rev III also got a new rear end - a larger one piece spoiler (as opposed to 3) and rounded lights with a flush rear panel. Traction control was also made standard.
The '2 has been called a baby Ferrari, and body kits have been made to reflect this, much to the annoyance and court appearences by Ferrari. But it's not about that. The MR2 can stand on its own without Italian Stallion comparisons. The scope for these cars is trememdous, and if you've got the ***** you'll be hungry for the track to make the most of it. It's a rare thing to find an unmodified example due to the penchant of the Japanese for taking these out at the weekend on the track. Provided you steer clear of high powered, poorly modified ones you can pick up a bargain, with items such as HKS coilovers, or Volks Racing alloys already on. For everyday use 350bhp is the maxium to retain everydat drivability, but with scope all the way past 750bhp. "
Man, I know the MR2 Turbo started at 200 hp, but I failed to recall any power bumps over its production run. But hey, I'll buy that for a dollar. I was looking right at the damn pages when I quoted the test results, but okay, R&T tends to test on the slow side, anyway. So I'll dig through the Car & Drivers sometime later on and see what their more aggressive testing procedures generated.
Of course, their LS1 tests are gonna be faster, too. And we're talking about all this without any corrections for track surface, elevation or temperature.
And we're not addressing the raw numbers which indicate that the F-car is pretty close in handling specs. And as it's been pointed out, the cornering limits of the F-body are too high to explore safely on public roads, anyway.
And low 14's? That's mighty fine for four pots, but it's gonna get some yawns 'round here...
But since you're speaking from the practical experience side, has it been your practical experience to run away and hide from a V8 4th-gen - assuming there ARE any V8 4th-gen F's autocrossing?
Edit - Oh, and by the way, one of the VERY LINKS YOU PROVIDED reinforces my recollection of snap oversteer. Better watch it, you might get flanked on the handling front if you keep hammering the power angle...
"... The MR2 Turbo is one of the most manly cars on the road, never have i been so intimidated by a car.
Comparing a car with no emissions equipment, air bags, side impact beams, and other equipment required by the us government isn't really a good comparison. It shouldn't be hard to figure out that with the added weight and power reduction of this equipment alone, it's not unrealistic to say the car runs 15's.

guess im not considered a part then since i dont have a LS1 ......YET
..but i still gota keep the pony
. I'd say at least half the guys here (including myself) have owned (or still own) Mustangs in the past. You're cool in my book. You ramble on about cubic inches, but why don't you check how many atmospheres your jamming into your intake manifold. You might be surprised that by any professional drag racing association you are running a much bigger engine with each pound of boost.
Just for an example the NHRA factors the Buick Grand National at 500+ cubic inches with 14 pounds of boost. That's with a base 231ci V6. Yet you always forget to mention that little equation.
And want to know what's really shitty about your car? How about someone slamming into the back of your car...cause nothing is going to stop that engine from replacing your body.
Reliability for camaros? Last time I checked, my V8 had 252k miles (with 250k on the stock T5...and ask any 3rd gen owner about that one) without so much as the valvecovers beingtaken off! And it still dusts ricers.
milehighroo - you came in the wrong time to the wrong thread. Go run around the rest of the site, these guys are cool. Sure, they talk trash about imports, but it's more of just a rivalry. Most of these guys appreciate supras, rx7s etc. But when some dude comes in to their own backyard and starts telling them how shitty and worthless their own cars are the **** will definatly hit the fan.

Sorry man, I forgot to include you!
SHUT THE HELL up 25 PSI, you are a parrot! I bet you read car and driver on the ******* every day and repeat everything you read.
Go HOME!
I think it is time for a LOCK! Maybe we should call it a LOCK AND BLOCK, lock the thread and block the troll.
Where did you get the black grill center piece for your truck? I think it makes the truck look much better than with the factory chrome piece. Let me know.
thanks

PS....I think the EVO is a pretty cool car for what it is.
