Why wouldn't you just say you would rather drive a Cobra or a Mach 1 which have better interior than a GT, better handling than a GT, better ride than a GT, and are just as fast as your car?

Hmmm I know of alot of 4.6L Mustangs that would rip the rear fender, door, mirror, and front wheels off your car as they went past you. What am I missing here?

Because I dont want to spend nearly twice what I have in my car+the car cost to go just as fast. Hand me one for free or for the same price and sure Ill drive one.
Plus Id really only drive the Mach 1. That scoop on top of that bloated hood really sets the car off...that ram air would take the place.

Yea it takes a crap ton to get those pesky 4.6L motors to run 109mph in the 1/4th.

Thought we were talking about Cobras + Mach 1s here???
Yep...03 Cobra terminator with the same miles and same condition sold for 14,000 on ebay. (And thats cheap...Ive seen some go for 22000 or more with less miles though) I paid 6500 for my car and put 1700 in mods in it. Total cost: 8200. Now with the money I saved I could slap a supercharger on my car and run laps around a cobra.

And I know they probably have about twice what I do in my car. While were at it lets compare a Dodge Viper to my car too.

People still use this excuse?! You are comparing a 2000 model F-body to a 2003 Cobra or Mach 1 and it amazes you that they cost more than your car would?! BWAHAHA

If you wanna argue this point then there is a 1984 Mustang coupe that I can pick up for $500 up the road. Imagine what I could build for $7,700 I would save by going with that car over yours.

To run 12.3@109mph!? Can you say a set of tires and wheels? lol

Just sayin...since were comparing my car to a car that costs twice as much why not go further? Which obviously you missed the point...since you're actually trying to do it

I really dont need to argue about this... I ran a mustang GT 2001 with the exact same mods as me with a slighty higher stall. He ran 12.81 and I ran 12.42. His mods also cost slightly more to do.

Stock for stock Base GT and Base Camaro...the Camaro wins

Optioned out GT vs Optioned out Camaro...Camaro wins

Mod for Mod GT vs Camaro...Camaro wins

BTW the way that must be a really shitty Mustang your buying there...I bought my Camaro really nice but If I wanted to I could find one for 2000 or less...running. I paid 3000 for my formula with double the miles.

This is getting retarded. All this hypothetical BS what if crap has no place on LS1tech. Ive actually ran mustangs with as many or more mods than me and I have torn them apart. Period. All ford owners have to brag about is when a Supercharged Cobra beats a Stock NAed F-body.

Ok lets forget about price for one second. A properly supercharged LS1 F-body should put out minimum 450-500 Horsepower with the minimum number of upgrades required to supercharge a LS1. I've seen such set ups Run 11.70-11.50 and quicker. The quickest Ive ever seen a Cobra Terminator run is 12.33. Not to mention once again that the terminators cost more if memory serves than a base corvette of the day. (35K I think) Compare that to a optioned out F-body custom straight from the factory (29K). With the proper mods with the extra money you could run laps around a Cobra.

Not to mention that my dad took his 3.43 geared M6 Trans Am from the show room straight to the track and with slicks turned a 12.98. Stock.

Only ford drivers would be proud that a supercharged V8 on their side beats a N/A (6K less) V8 by only .6 seconds.

If price isnt an issue btw...then I guess I can brag all day about how the upcoming ZR1 Supercharged LS9 will be able to blow away your Cobra or anything else Ford puts on the road

wow how old are you seriously. let me walk you through this in steps.
optioned out f-body is 35k. 03 cobras were 34,500 sticker price (yes i have my original window sticker). that looks like the same price to me. yes cobras have superchargers. but if you want to play lets supercharge the camaro game lets. however its only fair that you allow the cobra to upgrade its blower to an aftermarket unit if we are comparing dollar for dollar. so you put a blower on your f-body and make 500 ill put a better blower on my cobra and make 650. hmmmm oh and thats still with lacking 70 cubic inch. If you wanna talk n/a to n/a lets. a 281 ci Mach 1 will give all 346 ci ls1 f-body all it wants all day everyday.
Drive what you like. i prefer the looks of mustangs as to fbodys so i drive one. both cars can be made to run insane numbers. if you dont like them respect them. because if you dont your gonna come across one thats gonna whoop your ***.

Old enough to find the shift key...next...

optioned out f-body is 35k.
Really? My Uncle's 2002 35th SS cost him 29,150. And why, if you were buying it to race why would you pay for a CD Changer, Power Seats, Etc?

03 cobras were 34,500 sticker price (yes i have my original window sticker).
Nice Job comparing the base Cobra to the Highest End Camaro for racing purposes. You can get a fully race optioned out Camaro for the price listed above (His was a 3.43 geared M6 with the SS package)

however its only fair that you allow the cobra to upgrade its blower to an aftermarket unit if we are comparing dollar for dollar
Why? In the comparison I put a basic supercharging unit on the Camaro. I dont have to let the cobra Upgrade anything. Now if you want to talk about higher end units that a different story...

My Father's Trans am with the basic beefing up of parts in order to Supercharge it puts out 435 RWHP and Turns 11.79 @ 128 MPH. The fastest Ive ever seen a Cobra go in experienced hands is 12.3 (Hell ive only seen one GT500 crack into the 11s and that was with slicks) and there are two guys at my local track that cant get their stock terminators out of the 13s. (Admittedly they suck but its not easy to get these things into the mid 12s)

Nice mustang kill. It's fun to be able to play with another V-8 from time to time.

Why would you buy a brand new car to race, in that case. I could say your uncle is an idiot for paying $30k for an '02 SS when he could have gotten a '98 for a third of the price.

3.42*... and there were VERY few options for the Cobra.

435rwhp and 128mph? He must have some nifty suspension and a bit of weight reduction to be trapping the same as a C6 Z06 with less power
