I was about to say... I plan on putting a bigger cam than that in my 346 so in a 427 its not big at all.

Here are the exact specs of my Katech cam:
Duration @ .050 - 220/244
Lift - .615/.648
LSA - 110
I like the cam a lot. Like I said, I just got done racing another cammed C6 Z06 and that one put down 525 rwhp on the SAME MUSTANG DYNO that I put down 508, and I pulled him pretty good. Just goes to show ya that peak numbers don't mean all that much..

Thanks for posting the specs of your cam. The specs really show how well the intake side of the heads flow. Not much lift or duration needed to make power over stock. The exhaust side obviously needed a lot of help. A lot more lift and duration. I wonder how a set of LS7 heads that had the exhaust side reworked to improve flow would do on the dyno. (How much more power could be made by improving exhaust flow over stock and using a more balanced cam)

Fadi any idea what the cam specs are on the 525 rwhp Zo6 you raced ??
If I had to guess I would bet more lift and duration on the intake, creating more PEAK rwhp, and not enough lift or duration on the exhaust side thus killing his power under the curve. (At least compared to yours)
Fadi you seem to have the best of luck with cars. The torquer III cam really turned your car into a beast. Just wondering though, does Katech offer a similar cam with more duration and/or lift on the intake side for more Peak power (as if you need it) ??

As far as Katech offering a cam with more duration / lift on the intake side for more peak rwhp, I am not exactly sure although if I had to guess, I don't think they do.

Holy Phuk the way you walked him it looks like he forgot to hit the gas pedal. Great kills and good luck the next time, all though I don't think you'll need much luck.

It would be nice see a good set of reworked, or aftermarket cast ls7 heads that have exhaust flow or lack of flow issue corrected. The intake side flows well and makes excellent power with .600 lift and 220 duration. (drives like stock) The exhaust side needs so much help 64x lift and 244 duration. Rework the exhaust and make more power without going with all the extra lift and duration. JMO. DD with 530 rwhp ideling like stock. Can it be done ?

That would make some nice #'s and would sound wicked. You would need to gear it though for sure. At the least some 4.11's would be in order.

It still has quite a bit of overlap (which is where your getting your lope from) but its definatley not a big cam for an LS7. It probably makes for a nice driver though with some good midrange. Good street cam. If you were going for all out power though I would look into something more like this:

I really like the cam that I have in now. Only complain I have is the severe bucking at 1500 rpms or below. But, how often is my car at 1,500 RPMS or below?..
