I know what you mean. The other day I pulled up next to this blue Subaru POS with the big-*** bullwinkle antler wing. He yelled over- what did you do to your car? I said it's basically stock except I swapped the cam. He was like, "cam? Why did you do just one?". I replied that it was a pushrod engine and he looked completely dumbfounded, like what's a pushrod engine?

Every 4 cylinder car is in the 10's and every 4 cylinder w/ a turbo is in the 8's! The only thing is that none of their hood latches work when you ask them to pop the hood.

I know dude ricers fricken suck ballz. I once spanked one with his huge blue wing..... racing stripes and all the ricer trimmings!!! I'm sure he was wondering how he got raped so badly....so when I got off the freeway he followed me... and asked how much power I was making? I told him its only making about 475 to the wheels right now... but I plan on cranking it up really soon. Then I asked him how much his cobra was making..... he said he had just gotten it dynoed and it made 450rwhp on a mustang dyno. BTW I let off 5th because I didn't want it to be a total massacre..... The viper in the vid has 770rwhp... At that time he was having traction issues.... but now that viper is one of the big dogs..... notice how he lined up behind me!!!! LOL

Apparently I'm running in the 7's the way I beat a 10 sec civic. I had alot of ricer friends and they we're ready for the track after a strut bar and that cannon sized muffler. They just weren't raised right.
Lol @ the old thread. But seriously ricers are like that. When I had my Evo I was out with a few friends and a older Camaro drives by, sounded mean as hell. They were like you should run that guy he runs 9's. I was like why the ***** would I run someone that run's 9's in my high 11 to low 12 sec car? We ended up running later that night and I beat him and when we got back all the ricers were like damn your car runs 9's lol.
Also there was one of those famous 10 sec civics. I always heard how this guy ran 10's and his car was unbeatable (the typical ricer bs) anyways my buddy ends up racing him in his lightly modded STi and smashes him 4 times in a row, lol then here came all the excuses in the book

The car might be a 10 second car. He might have a two stage Nitrous system, one wet and one dry. He might have a twin turbo on his 4 cylinder too, who knows who cares? He might have a primer car with a B-12 and B-24 twin cam, in a A-9 frame with an exhaust the size of a coffee can. If the windows aren't covered with decals don't worry.
Kid was perhaps telling the truth, his car could runs 10's. It just hasn't completed the 1/4 mile in some cases not even the 1/8 mile in others.
Everyone needs to know a boat is faster on the trailer than in the water by 5 mph. A golfer will seldom shoot par. Hondas aren't quick generally.

Its not the cars fault. There are some great 4 cylinder engines out there. A 4 valve head and a cheap but tough forged bottom end can be a beautiful thing.
Sadly, the whole pop-culture thing has made the HP/L crap out to be the big performance thing. So all the stupid zombies who live through MTV and fancy cell phones tend to buy into the lame side of import stuff. I wish the stupid people would all get into something like needle point. I could deal with crappy mittens a lot easier than the stupidity of ricers.
Imagine a world where imports were ricer free. The competition would be great. The people would be cool even when they lost. You would not hear about 9 second cars that have nothing but some bolt ons and a B16. I had a guy once tell me that a 2.4L DSM with a 16G would runs 10s all day. I was standing next to my DSM, which unbeknownst to him was a 2.4L 16G car at the time. I simply did not have the heart to tell him what a moron he was. Imagine a world without that.

just to give you an idea of what it would take to do that, theres a guy in town with a 552 whp civic hatch (race gas). It weighs a tad over 2300lbs and his best time on drag radials was 11.8. With slicks if it held together hed prolly be in the high 10,s
