Here's a CLUE: PRODUCTION GT-Rs are trapping 111-118mph. NO HIGHER.
Dyno hype from overseas, pre-production models with Spec-V motors, higher-than-production boost levels, all hype.
The car is pretty amazing for 3800-3900lbs on a road circuit, but Nissan's 'Ring Times are pretty questionable, too.

i've seen magazine tests where the GTR has trapped 124 and some that have trapped 114. now thats the big difference. the 114 makes sense for a car with its weight and power. were the spec v engines used in the car that trapped 124? maybe boost was added to the cars trapping 120+ for the tests to build hype. this video does a little to expose the production GTR but its the only one i've seen. and by the way that thing looks like a bloated 350Z with extra plastic on it.

Tell me about it. You ever watch top gear on the BBC? The Corvette Zed O 6 rubbish compared to a LPg60 Lambo or what ever type of lambo they had. Oh and the Vette beat the lambo in th 1/2mile race and the STIG went faster on there little road course. Rubbish?.........My ****!

NISSAN loves ppl like you
My point is It can't even keep up with the Z06 on a straight away, how can it keep up with the ZR1 in the straight aways, never mind the turns. On that 7:29sec run, with the video side by side you see that it holds its own on the straight away LOL this is why...its got 693HP DUH!!!

Interestingly, C&D ran 124mph in a pre-prod. mule and 111mph in a production car. However, that 111mph car STILL outlapped the Z-06 by a small amount on that particular track. It is an amazing car.

I read through this thread and the link cunfuzed put up and i have one question.. How many people in this thread or the other thread go out to race a car on a road track?........... 95% dont... then why the **** does it matter if a car goes around a damn track faster..... I find it funny one magazine article i saw that labeled the new GT-R the "Z06 killer".... in magazine tests it might have been... in the real world it aint nothin but a lil bitch....
