What's up guys im not getting much help in the other fourm but i have a question. I just bought a 1995 LT1, I was looking into some stuff and came across the LT-4 hot kam kit I was wondering if this would work and if I would have to make any modifications to make this work. A friend and me are doing the labor, thanks guys

From what I've heard it works and should be a heck of an improvement. Yet I've never personally owned one of these engines they say it goes in fairly easily. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

I am in the same boat as king ... I have heard it would work, and looked into it alittle when I had an LT1 ... but I didn't get it so wouldn't be able to tell you for sure.

However, I do think you should put some serious research into it before getting it. I am sure there is an aftermarket company that sells something equal to, or better then the hotcam kit your talking about. After-all, NOBODY wants to do a cam install more then once.

band for the buck an lt1 hotcam kit is impossible to beat.... you will need computer work though. The kit can be had with all the nesecary gaskets, for under $500. I believe 92-94 lt-1's must change the front cover and distributer. check it out on www.gmpartsdirect.com and the description will let you know about its compatability with your engine

just checked, it will work. no cover or distributor change anyway. Even if you had to change though it is still worth it. The newer distributors are much more reliable

What's up Justin. I changed my AIM screenname to "damonez28" so IM me on that if you wanna talk more... If you wanna get the LT1 to be powerful as hell, save up some big dough and do the entire LT4 conversion kit. Manifold, heads, LT4 hotcam, blah blah blah 425 bhp naturally aspirated. This will cost you around 2600 bucks, I think. Not too sure.

The LT4 hotcam is one hell of a cam. Most people with LT1s that want a lot of N/A power are doing either an LT4 hotcam or a Comp Cams CC306. I'd recommend either of them, but the hotcam comes with 1.6 RR When I was first looking at buying my LT1, I was going to get a cheap N/A car and do an LT4 hotcam.

2001TA is pretty knowledgable. You should be able to find a Hotcam kit for around 450-550 bucks. The car will run with the Hotcam, but it won't run good (at all). Computer work is def strongly suggested. Also, don't do Edelbroch headers, rock the Hooker LTs. You won't regret it. I'm dying for a set of hookers... He's also right about the distributor. Optispark SUCKS, to say it flat out. my blower blocks mine, so if it blows, i'm in for a hell of a job just for a distributor change The LT1 was poorly designed by GM, but they're cheap and powerful.

Welcome to impossible spark plug changes!!
You forgot impossible header installations! Gotta love the LT1!!!

Justin, throw me an IM some time, I want more info!!! Good luck with it, welcome to the dark side of GM!
