well if you are using corvette parts (c5 or c6) you will pay the "corvette tax". This is why i am doing the C5 conversion with a bracket that uses Fbody abutment brackets (caliper brackets) rather than corvette ones, so I can use fbody pads.
in regards to the qustion about different piston sizes in the caliper (i know its a month old post), what ive read is that the smaller piston means that theres a quicker response and slightly more pressure. the sacrifice for this is obviously less contact area between the pistons and rotors.

The Z06 stuff is all cheaper priced than the equivalent F Body parts as far as pads and rotors.
