Default Coilover guys .. Spring rates..

Okay, So what lb springs are you guys using in the front ? I have a Ground control adjustable coilover setup front & rear. With Koni's. and Eibach springs.

My fronts are part # 1000.250.0450 .. So, i take it thats 450lb springs.. Now what is everyone running for street use.. ??

I'm running Hyperco OBD 10" 600 in./lb. up front, but I've also ran 550 in./lb., and 625 in./lb..

Strano's front springs are 550 in./lb., that's probably is what he would recommend, but that also depends on where you set your ride height at..
But don't take my word on it; ask Strano himself.

i have strano's springs that are 550 front with koni SAs and it's very comfortable even on rough streets, if i was going to switch to coilovers (which i will in the future), i will/would go heavier. probably start at 600 and work my way to where i like it, same with rear.

i drive a lot of canyons with occasional track days and the car's not a DD, so a firm ride is not only what i expect, it's what i want if the correct performance matches

if you go on frrax.com there will be a larger crowd that can give you better feedback on stiffer coilover springs

It's(600s) very similar to the LT1 front eibach pro-kit and the Kenny Brown Hypercoil front springs, but just maybe a little sharper jolt over expansion joints in the road. With the 550s I didn't notice any detectable difference compared with the LT1 pro-kit, or K.B. hypercoil frt. springs.

I'm running the 650# fronts and 175# rears on my daily driven Z28. I love them, some times It makes me wish I had gone with the 700# fronts instead, but streets in Cleveland suck sometimes. The car feels very precise and predictable very neutral. My setup works very well for a DD, weekend Autocross & track day car.

Also keep in mind that different people have different tolerance levels. Now my wife is very sensitive due to a host of health issues and sometimes the ride is to harsh for her. So we take the truck with the soft bouncy suspension during those times, other times she love driving it.

That's the truth. About people having tolerance levels. I don't know what your wife prefers.

I've had...

Stock springs on a set of revalved Bilsteins (speced by Sam)
450s on a GC kit with the same Bilsteins
550s on a GC kit with SA Konis
600s on a GC kit with SA Konis

Not surprisingly, the stock spring / Bilstein package had the best ride quality. Next best was the 450 kit.

Believe it or not, in my particular application the 600s actually ride better than the 550s did.

Same shock settings. Same height. Same tires. *shrug* YMMV

Not very. I need my suspension to work.

Measured at the fender lip... about 26.5" in front and 26.75" in the rear.

I *think* they're 10" springs but it's been a while. Does this look like yours?

I can get you the springs.... Not a problem. The are indeed 10" springs, and you can see that I usually do Hypercoil since they cost a touch less, but also have tighter tolerances than Eibach ERS's tend to.

I got 500# fronts and the 150# rears and I know I'm going to replace them with 600# fronts and 175# or 200# rears.

the reason why I'm thinking 200lbs rears is because I'm running two stealthboxes and two 10" subs and the amp rack plus the two amps and the wiring, I'm definitely carrying an extra 100 pounds back there.

jeez, you guys and your 600+ lb/in springs. Ive got my pro-kit 400 lbs. on my DD. I like it. Certainly, if my car was just the toy, id have something stiffer, but i cant imagine going as high as 700
