spring hitting upper phb after lca relocation brackets...what?
just like the title says. installed some lca relocation brackets friday night, everything was fine and dandy. tonight i switched them to the lower hole just to try it out. went out to test it and clu clunk clunkity clunk clunk squeak clunk.
i lurk these forums 24/7 and have never heard of this happening.
why is it happening on the lowest hole and not at the middle?
i'm guessing an adjustable phb will fix it?

"why is it happening on the lowest hole and not at the middle?"
As the axle moves up/down it also moves from front to back to front again ; in a arc like this: ( .
So when it's in the middle hole as the suspension compresses the axle is moving forward, but when it's in the bottom hole the axle is moving back as the suspension compresses.
Do you have a 9" ford, or 12bolt chevy rearend, or stock?
Adjustable LCA or stock?

stock rear and lca's
thought it was more of a right to left thing causing it than a front or back, i guess that makes sense. if it's front to back though then is a panhard bar gonna fix it?

Hello, did you get the lca's torqued down properly? Who's lower brackets are you using?
#9
torqued the lca's to about 90 lbs if i remember correctly.
i ordered RPM speed brackets but the hardware/instructions i received were from UMI. brackets aren't labeled so i really don't know who's they are hahah.

One of 2 scenarios :
- The brackets are not made correctly
- The brackets where not installed correctly

here's the brackets-dont think it's possible to install them wrong
here's where it's hitting. the upper arrow is pointing to the "upper phb"
you can see my sweet duct tape job with the hose underneath.
the lower arrow is pointing to where it hits the spring, where the tape is.
and yes i need new bumpstops
i set them back to the middle holes tonight and have about 1/8th inch of clearance now.

to switch holes i just drop the whole arm out. haven't tried without but i don't really think i could.
and these are slp eibachs in the rear. never thought of that. they came stock on some SS's and firehawks with the level 2(i believe) suspension package so i'd imagine it's not because of the springs.

Do you have a Adjustible T.A., or factory T.A.?
Have you checked the condition of the front TA mount and bushing(loose, broken, bushing wornout)?
Are you LCA bushing in good shape?
I'll post later after I look under my car, for a possible solution.

stock TA haven't really checked it out at all. i noticed today that while in the lowest hole my wheels sit really far back in the wheel wells. i ordered a new phb since i need one anyways so when i install that i think i'm gonna see if i can get the brackets to move forward at all. they may just be made wrong as they're from a newer company.
could be an installation error but they're pretty far off.

So everythings fine with your Torque Arm mount, and bushing ? Maybe it is your relocation brackets?
My suspension's all aftermarket. I also have bolt in relocation brackets (BMR)on the lower hole, but I have air springs, not coil springs and also my wheels are centered in the wheelwells (front to back).
So here's some pictures I took of mine and maybe that will help you figure things out.

thanks for all the help man. the angle of the picture does make it look pretty far forward, which i guess would cause it to push the axle back. would it be super obvious if there was something wrong with the torque arm bushing/mount?
