Just my $0.02 worth...You either want the car on it's wheels, with the suspension loaded, or at least supported on a frame machine holding the unit body straight and level before you weld in any structural bracing.

Being on a rotisserie, I assume that the car is only supported on the ends. If so, there's a little natural "sag", and if you weld a cage or connectors in now, you'll be welding that sag permanently into the car.

I have to agree with Leadfoot. Being on the rotissere the car is a unibody car you will experience flexing.

ok thank you, now if i put the car back on the ground on frame stands. [carts that bolt to suspension points so body can be rolled around] would these allow me to do the subframes or rollbar? no weight in vehicle

Yes you can do that ok. Its when you have the car supported on both ends with nothing in the middle that you run into the problem.

A trick you can try if you have the doors on the car is try opening and closing them when you have the car properly supported. If you have any flex in the body the doors won't open and close right.
