Trouble Installing Torque Arm

Trouble Installing Torque Arm I've been driving around with half a broken torque arm and my new BMR non adjustable TA finally showed up and I tried installing it (M6, Moser 12 bolt). I can't get it to fit properly on the rear. The bottom holes are really close to lining up and I'm kind of in a pinch because I'm at school and only have a jack, a pair of jack stands, and some simple tools at my disposal. The only thing I could think of is to keep hitting it with a hammer and hope it finally slides into place. Are there any tricks that anyone knows that maybe I didn't try?
i know of one, yo need a pry bar, the bigger the better, if you place it right where the the shocks meet the rearend( in between the bracket and the shock) you can pry the rearend up and down pretty well, dont wrry you wont damage anything, also its easier with 2 ppl

I'm just guessing as you're installing it the top lines up, but the bottoms don't...try jacking the differential to rotate it SLIGHTLY by putting the jack under the sway bar and very slowly raising it. This sounds like your issue. Good luck

When I tried installing it I tried jacking up the back of the rear by the sway bar and I saw it rotate point downward. I can't get the top or the bottom lined up although the bottom is close but it's all very tight and doesn't slide around freely. My rear is really dirty. Is it possible that the gunk is actually taking too much space preventing it from fitting?

New problem now. I got the bottom two bolts in but the top won't line up and I also can't get the clamshell to go over the bushing up front. This is so frustrating. I've never had any trouble putting one of these in before.

I disconnected the lower end of both rear shocks, it allowed me to rotate the rear more to get a bite on the hole. just be carefull cause it will drop all the way so keep an eye on the brake lines and ABS wire, best to remove the clamps just in case. then used a wrench and eventualy a socket when I got more room. by rotating the bolt it went in as needed.
