Default replacing brakes

I'm about to redo the brakes all the way around on my car. The guy at Oreilly's told me that I needed a special tool to compress the rear calipers. It that true? I though you could just use a clamp and compress them like the front ones.

Thanks
Tim

Oh yea, car is an 02 Z28

You CAN just use a clamp. Get a 6" C-clamp and go to work...

I use big channel locks the rears are easier than the fronts the fronts have two pistons.

If you want to remove the rear rotors the p/b self adjusters might have to be backed off to get p/b shoes off the inside of the hat/drum of the rotor.
The weekend is always alittle slow to get a quick reply.
Maybe also title your post as "how to compress rear calipers" instead of just "replacing brakes". I bet it wont take 2 days then, just a suggestion.
