Default G-Meter Update - Day 2

Ok, Day 2 tryin' out the corners, here's the results:

Corner 1: 1.10g
Corner 2: .95

Ok, so I really pushed corner 1 and hit the accelerator on the apex and the result was controlable oversteer, but it definitely stepped out...may have applied a touch too much gas, but never really felt like it was getting away from me. I honestly think it had more grip though if I hadn't gassed it quite as hard...I'll try again tomorrow with a little less throttle, but I definitely think I'm getting near the max g on turn 1. Really exciting part of this though, was how the rear remained incredibly smooth through out the turn, even when it kicked out. No wheel hop whatsoever and the car felt crisp and nimble the entire turn. It really feels like a smaller lighter car now and is just so willing to go where I tell it to go.

Corner 2 on the other, what can I say, off camber is still a bit intimidating and I didn't want to end up in the farm, so I ended up with the same results as day 1. I also had some on coming traffic so I couldn't dive into the turn like I normally do. I really think I can get a 1g turn out of this corner, so I'll give it another shot tomorrow. Still impressed without level the car feels through the turn despite the degree of off camber in the turn.

I bought the same setup and am dying to get it on the car but just haven't had time to get into it.

I also need to add tires with it and am wondering what you have?

I have Kumho's in stock size currently.

Toyo Proxes T1S...unfortunately they don't make them anymore, I think the current model is the T1R. I'm very happy with the Toyos though, I had the Kumhos before, and am much happier with these.

Stock size BTW.

Default G-Meter Update - Day 3

Ok, here are today's numbers:

Corner 1: N/A, F'in bike rider was on the inside of the lane.
Corner 2: 1.02g

Really hit the sweet spot on Corner 2 today and it made for a full one tenth improvement over the stock setup. The rear end just started to slip out as and the car felt so good all the way through. Totally thrilled I was able to get over 1g on an off camber turn, I'm just amazed.

So, I'm at .08g improvement on the first corner and .1g on the 2nd, I think I can match that improvement on the first turn, if I can just get another clear shot at it.

Default G-Meter Update - Day 4 (Last Update)

Ok, everone today was my fourth and final run of my Stano/Koni test. Here's the results:

Corner 1: 1.12
Corner 2: 1.00

So I finally hit corner 1 just right had just a tiny bit of understeer on entrance and just a tiny bit of over steer on exit which produced a nice audible screech throughout the turn...I was all smiles. If there's more in it, a better driver will have to find it.

Turn two, was very smooth and didnt quite hit it as good as yesterday thus the sligh drop in g rating, but still a reall good consistent turn.

So here's the final results:

The Car 99 SS M6 w/ UMI 2-point SFCs, the only changes made to the vehicle were Strano springs and Koni 4/4 shocks. No PHB, LCAs, or other sways were added to the car.

Corner 1: Stock=1.02 Strano/Koni=1.12
Corner 2: Stock=0.92 Strano/Koni=1.02

G-meter used was the Kenwood x789 eXcelon head unit and was not calibrated between Stock or Strano/Koni runs. The G-meter was reset before each run but the calibration was unchanged, making for a true scientific comparison between stock and Strano/Koni setup.

Let me know if you have any questions...

Nice! I'm hoping I can place a order for this combo in about two months.
For some reason the Koni's aren't listed on Sam's site at the moment though?

They are on there (at least for me):

Regardless, he has them...I just placed my order for Koni 4/4 to go along with his springs a couple days ago.

Would be interesting to see a comparison after adding the Swaybars and adj PHB.
I have the entire setup myself and simply could not believe the difference. It is like driving a completely different car.

Pretty good read up here. I enjoyed it.

Ive got the setup but I need some downtime to get them in. Ive got the rear Koni shocks in and it made a HUGE difference just changing those out.

Thanks MeentSS02, I should have seen the shocks link.
I guess I always looked at his package deal and I couldn't find that.

Ugh, I've had a box of 4/4s sitting in my room looking up at me, begging to be installed for about 2 months now. I'll get around to it eventually....

Oh don't worry, when Sam get his Hollow bars done, I'll gladly repeat the test.
