Default Suspension question...

This also has something to with weight reduction. I want to keep full interior. Now i know that certain suspension parts will also give the car some weight reduction, but which suspensiomn parts do that?!? And by how much weight will be lost?!?

I believe with all of the parts being thrown around here should come down to this:

1. What really is the car used for ?
2. What are the expectations of "weight saving modifications" ?
3. Are these expectations realistic ?
4. Are you willing to trade off stiffness and/or strength just to lose weight (not for all items but some) ?
5. Are you also willing to deal with a much more difficult time with suspension alignment and/or geometry issues (which will sometimes lead to serious alignment issues and prematurely worn tyres) ?

Foxxtron
1.Its a DD. Also just trying to save some weight for the track & street.
2. I want to lose atleast like 200-300 lbs. I am also going with some Weld wheels, so that will help out also.
3. I beleive so. I want the car to mantain driveability but lose some weight.
4. Yes I am.
5. I would notlike to lose any alignment issues. I want the car to drive well, but not go to crazy. Im going to take out the windshield washer res., probably do a battery relocation, get lighter wheels(welds), and remove some other small items as well.

Trying to lose 200 - 300 lbs. is a tall order without stripping the interiour. You can come close, but with most of those suspension parts you're aiming for, you'll have a significant loss of strength and stiffness in the front-end.

This won't be a big worry for the drag racing as much, but for the street, it can be. Also, you will get alignment issues with the aftermarket lower a-arms, if they're rod-ended. Alignments will take much longer and still may not be good enough for optimal tyre wear for daily driving. Rod-ends in those locations don't handle the side-loads very well that are encountered in daily driving.

Just sharing some things I've encountered with using "drag racing optimised" parts on a daily driven car.

Hello,
You could go with tubular front end! In the long run you gain performance quality and weight reduction. That is just a suggestion below is a link to show you.
