Default UMI K-member install help

I bought a road race k-member from UMI, i am still installing it, Cant seem to line up all six bolt holes for the k-member to frame. What is the easiest way to get them all to line up? Right now, all 3 on the passenger side line up and the very back one and the middle one on the drivers side line up.

Thumbs up K Member Help

Hello,
I have a few questions for you. First does the Dial pins in the frame line up? And when you installing the K member did you leave the motor mounts loose to eliminate a binding problem? We have experienced getting all bolts lined up and started and then tighten down. If you have any other problems or questions feel free to call in and we will be more than glad to help you!
Thanks Again,
Brad

The Dial pins line up. And are you talking about the 4 motor mount to engine bolts? If you are talking about those 4 bolts yes they are torqued down.If you asking about the really long bolt that goes through the rubber no that one is not tight.

those threaded inserts you're bolting the k-member into will move back and forth a bit. You can see them sticking out the sides of the framerails, they're usually fairly easy to move. If only one isn't lining up that insert may have just moved a bit off what you need.

Right now, If you look through the hole of the k-member you can see that is not inline with the hole in the frame. cant move that threaded insert enough to clear it and the bolt just gets jammed in.

So I finished the install, with the upper and lower a-arms, went to road test it. Alignment being way off was expected. But when I steer it makes a clunking noise and some other noises too. And the Steering also feels weird.

Default Front End Noise!

Hello,
It could be a lot of different things. Sounds like you don't have something tightened! Might want to double check all the hardware and make sure everything is tight. Hope that could Help. If you have any other problems leave us know and we will be glad to help.
Thanks
Brad

Felix, The car is going to feel terrible and unstable until it is aligned. If it hasn't been aligned yet get that done before driving it much... it will make all the difference in the world.

Also did you install any aftermarket headers while you did the K-member?

yup, where's the pics lol

the clunk could be everything from shock mounts to control arm mounts etc. Go back through and check every bolt.
