Default 03' Cobra vs. 02 WS6/(SS)

Im sure this has been discussed many times before but how does the WS6 compare to the Cobra with its IRS. Im thinking the Cobra because of the Independent Rear Suspension. Is there any way to bolt the corvette rear suspension to a WS6. Just a thought....

1 person has done a C4 vette rear in a 3/4th gen, not a bolt in at all.

not easy at all, i'll see if i can't find the site, and post it.

Ryan.

The Cobra is signifigantly heavier than your average WS6.I personally feel weight (and the way it is distributed) is more important than an IRS.

In my opinion Independent rears are not all their hyped up to be. On a smooth racetrack a live rear axle car will be every bit as fast as an IRS equipped vehicle.A track that is bumpy especially in the entrances and exits to corners will not be nice to a live rear axle vehicle.

The live rear axle is more often than not lighter, stronger and more efficient than an IRS.

With the proper parts and some solid tuning a 4th gen F-Body can perform very well around a track even with it's "archaic" rear suspension.

I think bolting the rear suspension of a 'Vette into an F-Body would be more trouble than it is worth.

Get ahold of Trackbird or MitchnTX(I think that's it) on this forum and LG Motorsports ----> over there to find out what you need to make these cars hustle around a track.

IMO, the '03 Cobra suspension is better hands down compared to LS1 fbody suspension. That's comparing two stock cars and I'm not referring to drag racing at all.

I should add that I have no data to support that. That's strictly my own opinion after owning both cars.
