Inner tierod removal/installation few q's

how hard is this task to accomplish? it looks fairly easy. the main question i have is: is there a specialty tool that is required? and if so can i rent this from a local auto parts store?

autozone and oreilly will rent it out. you just put down a deposit and get your money back when you return them. you will need to get an alignment after you are done.
