I have Tools but no air compressor. Got stollen.

Nice finding the calipers. U gonna go with ZO6 rotors or 5th gen rotors?

Most likely Gen5 rotor bcuz of no washer needed and correct turning direction but really depends on how much. My original route was C6Z 6 piston caliper and HP Hawks 1 piece brake pad. I've the adapting bracket already (Evil at my right ear saying "might as well go big"). But I came across this set low mileage and dirty cheap shipped so can't resist.

I'm running suck@ss C5 wagon 18" wheel which will never clear the setup. I might need to run 1.25" bolt-on wheel spacer for clearance. Unless I find some dirty cheap C6Z wheels.

Oh wow didn't know hawkmade a 1 piece pad for the zo6 calipers. But the 4 piston brembos r probably better caliper. Kinda wish gm used brembos on the zo6. Then everything would b much easier. Front and rear swaps.

Can anyone tell me who wrote up this post.

How I did it; CTS-V calipers under 17" ZR1's

I was sitting here reading through all this and looking at all the measurements and looking/measuring my 17" ZR1's going, "I really think they could fit" cause they taper greatly outward just inside the lip. Then I was looking through the "CTS-V Brake Install w/ Pics" link and on the 11 page some mentioned the dead link above.

Now that I know it's possible I'm like wanting to drop money on the calipers right now lol.

Does anyone know the guy that did this?

I don't know his name and it looks like the post is gone, but I do have his pictures saved. He basically milled out his own bracket from scratch.

Would you be so kind to post the pictures you have when you get a chance.
I'm a little confused now how moving the caliper around would help, since their is no real room to move it except maybe 2mm inward max.

The pictures would be very helpful :-)

He moved it in a lot and used 13" vette rotors. I would also consider 13.5 rotors a good option.

If I remember it was alot of fab work. He talked about possibly making a kit for it but I think it would of been pricey. Now that I think of it the smaller rotor couldnt of fully utilized the big calipers.

Hmmmmm. I've been looking over everything and I think I only need to move everything in about 6mm. 2-2.5mm to make it fit, the rest for clearance. I'm thinking about drilling and taping the caliper mount holes offset inwards. That would give me about 2.5-3mm in and then I could dill out and sleeve the spindle holes, again offset inwards, for the rest. Then take a grinder to the top of the caliper if need be, last option for sure but the diagram makes it seem like there's enough material. The rotor could just be milled down till it fits.
All feasible easy stuff. Would probably get longer bolts so I could put a nut on the other side just so nothing backs out.

Think I'm going to buy one too mock up and see if I'm right enough. They're just over $200 each right now from the dealership.

Would like your thoughts on this.

Edit: Scratch that, I don't even think drill/taping the caliper in necessary. The spindle I think could facilitate enough inward by drilling, sleeving and using a Bolt with some sort of security head. I could cut the sleeve long enough to not need the washers and give me a nice place to weld the sleeve to the spindle.

Edit2: Just realized taking that much off the rotor would make it about a 13.5"(342mm) rotor so it just mine be the drill and sleeve mod to make it all work.
The 05-06 C6 Z-51 rotor are 13.39"(340mm) meaning a total reduction of the rotor diameter by 5/8th or 15mm. So the caliper would need to move in 5/16th or 7.5mm to fit that rotor. Which the spindle can handle.

N e one dis n e extensive research on cobalt ss turbo brembo setup? Uses 13" rotors and 4 piston setup. Curious if that setup fits as well

I've never looked. Are the cobalt calipers cheap?

I found some pictures and the mounting lugs on the caliper look just as long as on the CTS-V calipers. So the cobalt spindles must have the mounting holes closer to the hub than the f-body spindles.

If you really want 4 piston calipers on a smaller 13" or 13.5" rotor you'll probably need to spend a lot more money for calipers that have shorter mounting lugs or else get a radial mount caliper.

Oh no I'm using the 14. Just throwing out possible options to those who might want to use a 13" rotor. But seems like still alot of work.

JasonWW at which point do you need to measure from stock caliper to the rim to check and see if you have atleast 1.25'' clearance? Thank you.

Default Spoke to caliper clearance

I have a 2000 Z28 with C5 Z06 wheels (18 x 9.5). Everything I read online says that the wheels are 56-57mm offset. I measured my spoke to caliper distance and I only have 5/8". However my pads are brand new. I've already ordered all parts including the 15mm spacer for CTS-V conversion. Anyone have a similar gap? Or use C5 Z06 18's with this conversion?

I still recommend a trial fit on one side to see how everything fits before swapping all the parts over. It's the only way to know for sure.

Does anyone know if the the new camaro brakes will fit on 98-02 Fbody? They look exactly like the CTS-V ones but a little different. Any info on this I'll appreciate the input.

^Try a search. I know theres a thread on a guy using the 5th Gen Camaro rotors with the CTS-V calipers. No washers needed and fits a little better. I think something would have to be drilled for the calipers to work. I know theres at least two threads on here about it though.
