Installing strano & koni's ?

Installing strano & koni's ? Got the old shocks out went to assemble the koni's and strano springs with the springs fully decompressed they are kind of loose between the bottom spring perch and the strut mount. Is this OK or did I miss something. I didn't move the lower spring perch down on the koni. I was also wondering am I supposed to transfer the dust boot over from the top of the stock decarbon to the koni. I don't think I have to because how would you adjust the koni shock. Do you also use the black piece of plastic from the old shocks that the spring sits on?

There is going to be a little free play between any lowering spring and a stock replacement shock. The lowering spring is shorter than stock, which is why/how the car is able to sit lower with a higher spring rate.

Thanks Major kind of what I thought but had to make sure. As far as mounting the rear shock i was wondering what size bolt to secure the rear shock to the rearend. The konis didn't come with a bolt to secure it to the rear.

I would start with a 14mm (10.9 'grade') or 9/16" (Grade 8) bolt with fine threads, about 2.5" to 3" long. Besides the matching nut, you will want a couple nice/thick flat washers (and maybe a few extra to space the shock out away from the rearend mount a little), and a lock-washer before the nut.
If those bolts won't fit/too sloppy, then try a different diameter-- but those should be real close to the size of the rearend's shock mounting hole.

I put mine back on however I'm wondering if the plastic piece can be left out and have no adverse effect to the suspension noise? I would cut down more of your suspension travel though.

I thought it would be a good idea to put them in so I am going to rip the front back apart and install them.
You must have 3rd gen rears so they must come off. 4th gen has the **** and you access it from the top of the shock where you access the top shock nut. I had to cut a couple small slits in the carpet but you really can't tell.
...I've got Strano springs and his 4/3 Koni shocks on order... Are you saying the rears don't come with ANY hardware at all?! Or, do you think it's missing? Can you post up pics of what you're talking about on the rear shocks? I'm hoping yours is just missing the hardware...even my current Gabriel shocks came with everything I needed to install them! I can't imagine Koni wouldn't do that as well...
