Default Just installed my SFCs today!

for those of you who don't have em yet, what are you waiting for?! these were a inexpensive upgrade and so easy to install. i don't know what took me so long to get some. my car rides so much better and it feels much more solid all around. i had an pretty rough 1-2 shift and the SFCs lightened that up a little too, an unexpected benefit. once again, thanks UMI for a good deal on these!

Yeah, I held off quite a long time on installing them. Hearing various opinions to the negative, all they do is add weight, etc. But after having them welded in and driving over bumpy roads, train tracks, its shocking how much stiffer the car is now. It makes the car feel much more confident.

I really didn't notice a difference. I installed them when I was at maybe 30,000 on the clock. Do you have a high-mileage car? I love your avatar by the way. Super hot.

I put mine on at 30k and it made a huge difference. Especially going over the rr tracks near my house. It now feels like a one piece car instead of a two piece car.

I'm assuming if some of our cars have some minor chassis flex to it, then it could have an indirect effect on how the suspension works. Maybe very slightly change the forces applied during suspension travel??? I guess it depends on how much someones car really flexes. I'm sure some people experienced a placebo effect by installing them. Since your car is an 02 and his is a 98, 4 years of age might have an effect on the body?

SFCs still will never effect anyone's suspension directly though.. as long as they know its not really a handling modification.

I bought my car back in March and let me tell you, my #1 priority was to stiffen up the ridiculously lousy chassis. Just last month I installed UMI non-adjustable LCAs/ Panhard Rod and SFCs, along with BMR front springs and non-adj torque arm. It is a WHOLE different car. The biggest effect came from the SFCs. It really felt like the front of the car was FINALLY connected to the the rear of the car.

Also, you can't go wrong with either company for parts, both have excellent products and customer service at a competitive price.

i took ahold of one of the sponsor's special offers that they had a little while ago. took me awhile to get them installed with work and all. they were offering free shipping, and when you have a wife and a kid on a single income in california, every penny counts. just check the sponsor specials thread, there's always good deals in there. i think i got a similar deal on my STB.

Speed Engineering has the UMI SFC's on discount with free shipping. I have been putting these off but finally pulled the trigger. I'll let you know if I feel a difference.

Did you get the 2-point or 3-point SFCs?

I put my 2-point tubular sfc's on at 80k and at the time I had no other suspension modification done to the car. It was definitely noticeable. It's going to be more helpful on t-top vehicles than anything. I recommend it.
