Default Coilover ride height question

I see some cars that lower the front more than say a normal lowering spring would lower it. I have measured the fenders and rear quarters before swapping the coilovers. Is it better to put it back to the same ride heights as before the swap or is it ok to play with the setting a little? Is some rake desired?? Lower in front. Some drag cars are planting the front on the ground and look really good as far as the stance but is this accomplishing anything other than looks? Just trying to figure out what is recommended when installing drag shock/coilover pkgs. Thanks.

Also, when I measure the heights before I took everything apart I noticed the right side of the car sits lower. I measured with empty tank full tank it was always lower on the right side. Is this normal??

Hello
Whatever ride height you want it is fine just as long as you keep and eye on the pinion angle. I have heard that the reason for the cars always leaning is due to the motor and drive train it offset towards that passenger side. So if you are using a different rate of spring it would probably show a little more. If you have any other questions feel free to ask!
Thanks
Brad

If you level it out a little it will take some out of the suspension working due to weight transfer. That"s why you see a lot of cars with the rack to them. Hope that helps.
Thanks

So you are recommending I leave it as it was? Thanks again Brad.

Hello, you can set your ride height to what ever you like. Keep in mind that if you lower the front too much it will throw your alignment off. Thats one of the benefits of coilovers you can set it to what you want. Also after you get it where you want it verify that your pinion angle is still ok. If you have any questions please give me a call.
