Default Axle Slap

The axle on my camaro is slapping my exhaust pipe when I hit big dip in the road. I recently changed the spring and shocks (O'reily band) and this helped a little but has not completely resolved the problem. Any help with this would be appreciated.
Thanks

The exhaust is aftermarket Flowmaster. I can't find any bump stops for 16" wheels.

I have the flowmaster system and my car sits very low (autocross only) and it doesn't hit the exhaust pipe at all. I did take my time when installing the system to make sure that the exhaust was positioned to give the most clearance to the axle.

I also have flowmasters and I don't think the size of the rim matters that's much for bump stops. Just make sure they bolt up the same. How do yours look ? Are the new lookin or they like a sponge or not there@ all. I have a 95 and when I went to put new ones on All that was left of the OE was the bolts and bracket

the exhaust I had professionaly. I still got to look for some new bump stops and then see if that fixes it because the bumps are worn pretty out.

well i've replaced the bump stops and it helped a little but the problem is still there and now when I slow down I hear a slight "pop" noise any ideas as to the problem. I think it might be the U-joint.

Kinda off subject, but a word on Flowmasters. For most cars, they're great mufflers. My dad had a 77 Vette that was perfect with them.

But, I had one on my car for a while. Went to get a dyno done and did 2 pulls with it hooked up, and 1 pull with a bypass open (after the cats, after the Y, before the muffler). I gained . . . ready for this? . . . 31hp!

In talking with several F-bod builders around here, we realized that this wasn't uncommon. Flowmasters, for some reason, actually rob HP from F-bodies. You will be better off with factory. Then, you'll be EVEN better with some other type on there.

Are you sure it is hitting the axle and not the panhard bar? Is it 3" going over the axle or ??? If you had it professionally installed recently, I'd take it back to the and ask them to look at it because it rattles. If you suspect U joints, set the rear axle on jackstands so it is loaded up like it is on the ground, grab the drive shaft and twist it back and forth, there shouldn't be much play. If that was it you could recreate the banging that way. While you are there, run your hands around the exhaus pipe as it goes over the axle to see where you have narrow clearance points.

I'm sure the axle is hitting the exhaust I can see to the dents and marks on the pipe. the exhaust is 2.5" over the axle.
