Default want to install F-body BAER brake system on c5 **please help**

http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...vid=3&pcid=145

i know there is a brake conversion kit to add 97-04 Corvette C5/Z06 front calipers and rotors to any 93-02 GM F-Body

You want to go to a SMALLER rotor? That's the opposite way everyone goes. That's going to be hard to find something off the shelf. It will probably be a custom machine shop job.

I can understand the caliper. But please explain whay a smaller rotor?

i would wager to guess that if no bracket is need for the f-body, and the caliper is designed to bolt to an F-body knuckle and clear a 14" caliper, that it would be spaced out too far on a C5.

Just a guess, taking into consideration that C5 knuckles already space the stock calipers out enough to clear an inch larger rotor than an f-body.

However if the baer system uses a bracket to attach the caliper to the knuckle, you might just be able to leave it out. It would make sense for them to make one kit and just add brackets for the f-body to make it fit. But i havent a clue.

You are going to need new brackets. If you're really lucky, the fbody and the C5 kit might use the same calipers and rotors and hats. Meaning you could just buy the C5 brackets from baer. Check out their website and see if the replacement part numbers for the rotors/hats and calipers are the same between the two cars. If they are, call baer and see if they will sell you just the bracket.

Otherwise, it will be a totally custom piece.
