i just start to jack my car up on one side and look at the spring...if a coil is still in the way jack the car a little higher until its not. I use the small end of an allen wrench and never take the wheel off to do it. Pretty simple.

 

Adjusting the fronts really isn't fun. The 4th gen rears are awesome though.
Of course dropping the allen wrench down inside the coil is a complete PITA and I had to pull the wheel off to get it out. Gay.
