Default I think I broke a suspension piece racing a viper... help

So on my way home from work the other day i was messing with a viper. I nailed it pretty hard in first and the car hooked great! but then i heard something snap in the back of the car and now the car is vibrating really bad. and the whole back end is sitting lower. its not the motor cuz when i rev it, it doesnt vibrate. only vibrates when releasing the clutch, or trying to move the car forward. this was in traffic so max speed was prolly 35.

the car has 28" MT on the back with a 12 bolt and 3.73 gears, and I replaced the panhard bar when i put the 12 bolt in.

what do yall think it could be?

Can you put the rear end up on jackstands and try letting the clutch out to see if it still vibrates?

If it's sitting lower it's got to be something related to ride height..... Broke a spring, maybe a spring mount? That in turn is likely to be causing you a bind in your driveshaft which would make a bad vibration..... Just a hunch not like I can see the car.

Getting some pics from under the rear of the car would probably help a lot with diagnostics.

that makes sence. One thing thing that makes me think though is that both passenger and driver rear sides are sitting lower. is it likely that i broke something on both sides at the same time? i cant really think of any 1 thing that could break and make both sides sit lower. can you?

Thinking about it, if the entire back end is sitting lower, it may be a broken torque arm, allowing the axle to rotate backwards (causing driveshaft bind), which would in turn lower the car because the spring perches would rotate closer to the ground.

Exactly what I was thinking Element.... Whatever it is, you shouldn't be driving it until you figure it out.

That was my first thought, but I didn't know if the rear rotating would make a big difference on ride height.....being the OP just said that the whole rear is sitting lower (not just one side) I think that this could very well be it.

I think you should try to go faster and see if that helps. You probably broke your mustache or something. Have you looked at that yet?

I know its like a year later. but I just now got around to fixing the car. Just for future reference if anybody finds this thread and having the same problem it was indeed the torque arm that was broke. I replaced the torque arm and it rolling around like a champ again.

Wow... I think I would go crazy if my f-body was parked for a year and I couldn't drive it.

O wait Im about to actually go a year without driving an F-Body because I have been deployed for 10 months lol, and yeah Im going crazy waiting to come home to my new T/A.

Well, at least you got her fixed is the big thing, have fun... stay away from vipers. Lol

Yah I was going a little crazy. I had other toys to play with while it was broke though. And I saved money while it was broke too lol. The day I got it fixed I think I spent a couple of hundred on it for just some dumb stuff

It was factory. It broke the top back bolt and the bottom back bolt. I can try and get a picture.
