qa1's and mounts??
qa1's and mounts?? hey guys.. .i did a search and didnt come up with anything... i have a simple question... do you guys run stock (or stock replacement) front upper shock mounts with your qa1's on 4th gen f-bodys.... i had trouble with an aftermarket replacement mount tearing the upper shock nut through the rubber and was just ridding in the top of the strut tower (yea didnt even know this untill i tore down my k-member)... now with qa1's it will be seeing some violent launches... are these stock mounts ok to use... (probably get napa ones)... or is there another performance based option.... thanks for any help...
Aftermarket upper shock mounts are notorious for being crap. Everything I've heard and read is all the same as your experience. This is one instance where you HAVE to use the GM replacement parts. They are the only ones that seem to hold up to shock.
I've seen lots of guys on this board have problems with the upper shock mounts, switch to the factory/stock ones, and the problem stops.
