Ah, did you get real GM wheels, or replica's. Asking because folks find out pretty quick that 19x12" isn't an easy fit (nor one recommended by me). I'm very, very familiar with it as I have a C6Z06...and a 4th gen. I wouldn't try and everyone who has has some trouble. Most end up cutting off bumpstops which is a big no-no and causes other issues.

The fronts fit great, if 18x9.5 wheels are what you want all around.

I know Sam, I was referring to Jawz car with the C6 Z06 wheels.

Too bad you don't live near me, I'd buy those off you Jawz

Beautiful. I'm a little biased though having picked up a black SS myself.

Thank you for the picture! And thank you all for posting your pictures!

Just threw some stranos/hd bilsteins on the SS over the weekend along with new 18" oe wheels and falken rubber. Very happy with the stance and imagine it will settle once it is driven a bit.

KONI SRT.T and STRANO Springs before and after pics.

the after pics are a 2 months or so after the install, about 200 miles of driving and sitting as well in the garage.

I love the before/after shot, really shows the difference. I think the after is how they should have looked to begin with.

How's it feel?

I agree with you Sam should have been lower from the get go from the factory.

as for the ride i am impressed, soft enough where i'm not feeling ever rock in the road, but still firm as a sports car should feel.

handling side, very responsive, way less nose dip on heavy braking, more precise feel when driving with the sense of feeling more connected to the road.

best of both worlds here. Should be even better once i get my 17's put on and new sway bars.

had a friend in the car and he was very impressed and will be ditching his coil overs to this set up in the spring on his 02 t/a

Well, if I had to lay out what I was going for when making them way back when, what you just described would pretty much hit the nail on the head.

Makes me happy to hear. And yes bars will only help things more.

What kind of coil-overs does your friend have, just out of curiosity?

That thing have new rear isolators John? Actually higher than normal in the back. Might want to do the hose mod.

But this is handy, because here we have two cars where the front looks the same but the rear is a bit different. Why? Because there are a lot of variables and some of which add up.

There are a number of different stock isolators, some are thicker than others, thicker ones make the car taller than a car with thinner ones.

LCA's and LCA Reloc brackets. Bushing bind and/or the change in geometry form brackets can make a car kind of "stick" higher than one without those things.

Fuel load/weight in the back. You can push the car down quite a lot in the rear. So 70 pounds of fuel difference will matter. A car with a sub box, or tools, or something in the rear will sit lower than if it didn't have those things, etc. Add a few of those up and you can see why rear heights can vary.

But the biggest one is simply the place where the car is parked. Because of a solid axle, any slope pivots the axle. If the LR is compressed 1/2" the RR is down about the same amount. So measurements, pics, and standing back to look at it are best done on drives or streets that don't slope one direction.

viking coilovers, he went this route due to running 18's y2k vette wheels.

Well, it is an LT1 car as well. Original isolaters as far as I know, bought it with 160K on the clock. Does have Watts link, dual roto-link LCA's and LCA relocation brackets. At the time of picture it was down to 2 gallons of gas. Mom's driveway which is not super flat as you noticed. Here is a shot from inside my garage, picture from one day earlier. I agree it does sit higher than normal and other cars I did this to. However, having 11" rims and 315/35/17 I don't mind too much.
