Is this fixable???...
My friend sold me a pair of bilsteins that came off his firehawk, he had a mechanic install lowering springs and well the mechanic screwed up and sliced the top of the strut when removing the nut. He gave them to me dirt cheap and im wondering if they can be repaired. Its a real shame since they had REALLY low miles.

you might have better luck with a rethreading tool, rather then just trying to run a nut down on it, but either might work. it should be OK as long as you get the nut down below the messed up part. On the other hand, I wouldn't be to anxious to buy used shocks.

If you use a die on it you should be ok as the nut actually sits/holds further down the threads. You need to definitely use a thread die on it then be careful when tightening the nut down.

one of my shocks had a little damage to the thread and i didn't have a die handy, so i used the edge of a file to clean up the damaged threads a bit and then just chased it with a new nut
if you have the tool that'd be the way to go though
