Yup....and they do warp. Ask anyone who ever ran a brake lathe....

I have the highest regards for Mr. Carrol Smith (who is no longer with us), and I can see his point under race conditions. But, I've turned warped rotors. If they didn't warp, they would cut cleanly on a lathe, they dont.
