Rear Bump Stops

I purchased the Jeep bumpstops from Amazon for under $20 shipped. They're the red polyurethane energy suspension bumpstops. Mine fell apart in my hands while removing the old ones. These are well worth replacing imo.

Unless you really need the spacers for clearance issues then I recommend just cutting off the lip that fits into the side of the spacer or factory bump stops. The additional 1/2" of compression travel will help give the car a smoother ride on less than prefect roads; especially on a lowered car!

I just took out my spacers and found some 3rd gen rubber bump stops on ebay for like 10 bucks and they mounted right up no problem. Much better than the POS OEM 4th gen stops that basically crumbled to pieces.

I bought the V6fixit.com kit, and am very pleased. It fit perfectly, and was the best choice for me, because I don't want to do any permanent modification to my Firehawk. The price was $45 and fast shipping. My original bumpers were crumbling to dust (that is, what remained of them).

First, what makes you think you need the SLP spacer? Many (including myself) remove the spacer for more suspension travel, and have no rubbing issues.
Next, have you looked at your bumps stops, and are they worn down/chewed up? If not, your issue may also be the shocks just not dampening the car properly and giving that jittery/jarring ride.

If the car is lowered, the poly bumpstops are going to be way too stiff. Most people think you need to go to stiffer bumpstops when lowering, or that stiffer bumpstops are beneficial, but it's actually quite the opposite. Being lowered, the car will more frequently hit the bumpstops. You want the impact to be cushioned, not harsh and abrupt.
Like others have mentioned, if the car is even moderately lowered, it will be very beneficial to cut the lip off. These car don't have much suspension travel in the rear, increasing that will make it ride better on less than perfect roads, and more stable/predictable at the suspension limit. Jack up your car from the diff and take the wheels off, measure the distance from the bumpstop to the axle, you will see how little compression distance there is for the suspension.
Ii myself just received a set of rubber bumpstops from Strano. They are softer than the poly, yet firmer than stock. I will be replacing my poly ones with this and cutting the lip off at the same time.

I just did this for my Camaro. Milled the spacer bump and $6 jeep bump stops!
This setup sits probably 3/16" shorter then stock, but its stiffer then stock so it equals out I'm guessing.

I just had these installed on Sara (2001 Z28, stock height). She has low profile tires on 18" wheels, she just loves them. They came with Grade 8 M1-1.75 bolts. Had the mechanic use the SS lock washers, and lock nuts I purcased at Lowes, he also used blue loctite on the bolts. Sara has no adverse reaction to her birthday present. HAPPY 22nd BIRTHDAY SARA!!!
